it merely shows your a sheep who likes to stick out and bark orders rather than have fun.

Ummm. I think you need to back to metaphor school. "Sheep" are usually followers of the herd. And they don't bark; orders or otherwise.

It has an unlock code.

Hell, 7.62mm vs 5.56mm rounds is more than a subtle difference!

TF 2.16 was the last good TF. Spies and Engineers are crap.

"John Carmack explained the firing was related to an internal dispute over the nature of the company's next title. Though a decision was made, to create a new sequel to the original id hit Doom, the fallout of the battle appears to be the loss of Paul Steed. "Kevin [Cloud] and Adrian [Carmack] fired Paul Steed in retaliation, over my opposition," John Carmack wrote, "Paul has certainly done things in the past that could be grounds for dismissal, but this was retaliatory for him being among the 'conspirators'. I happen to think Paul was damn good at his job, and that he was going to be one of the most valuable contributors to DOOM. "

I can't wait for the Masters of Doom movie ( http://www.cgonline.com/content/view/756/2/ ) - I hope they tell the story up to present day ...might have to make it a two parter!

Actually Paul Steed was fired for supporting Doom 3.

Adrian and Kevin Cloud was against it, Carmack and Steed were for it. Adrian and Kevin agreed on Doom 3 then fired it's main supporter inside id.

Should have never had the pissing contest that resulted in Paul Steed getting axed! It's been downhill ever since.

It's not valve's fault you folks wanted a lame t-shirt. Collectors edition never said anything about including day of defeat or it being equitable to the gold or silver package available on steam.

The best part of prey from the PC gamer article = Art Bell will be doing voicework for the game! (In certain parts of the ship they're monitoring broadcast from earth, and one show happens to be Art's, yay!)

Ridiculous, not to mention you don't have a disk, nor manual, nor even get the game early.

You don't get a manual if you buy it in stores either And I have enough discs laying around, and boxes are tree-murder!

" What do the french have to do with that. God, you're so childish"

Vivendi = a French company. A slimey one at that (imagine.)!

Ever since Vivendi Universal purchased Sierra they've been killing off game studios, firing good people, frauding investors, and giving huge severance packages to their CEO's. God, they're so French!

"Oh, please, don't feel sorry for VALVe.. all they are doing is rubbing their hands full of money."

And they're the ones that deserve it, not suits at vivendi that make retarded business decisions, driving the industry into the shitter, closing viable studios, destroying brands, and being french.

Would you rather pay $5 to a sweet old grandma for a nice apple pie, or pay $5 to a menacing french bastard with a hairlip that gave the sweet old grandma $2 for the pie?

"Some of you people talking about beta DO realize that the NDA is still up dont you?"

It's more important to spread some truth so people who think "Well, maybe SOE got things right for a change!" won't be so quick to plunk down hard earned cash for something that's misrepresented in the knob-polishing previews and the total horseshit PR releases.

The only reason i've kept a SWG account was because I knew JTL would be coming. I've been in the beta for months, haven't played in weeks. When you make fundamental flaws in your design decisions, no amount of quick patches will fix it, unless they make a booboo in the patch and it deletes the install.

SOE had such a great opportunity with the Star Wars franchise, and they blew it with the ground game and now they've blown it with space. For shame. I hope one day Lucasarts will decide to do an inhouse MMORPG using the star wars license, some fresh blood and new design leadership is what's sorely needed.

"So how does JTL work? Is it hard to get killed in your X-Wing? If it's not, then what happens when you die? I presume you don't respawn quickly, ala X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter"

You respawn immediately at the nearest space station with damage. You then communicate with the space station and can get instant full repairs (in the "newbie zones" - in the "hard" zones like dathomir and elsewhere you can't fully repair your damage) and go back out there for credits.

When you want to land on planets you also have to fly to within 1200m of space stations and communicate with them and get permission to land. Unless you hyperdrive to a zone, in which case your amazing calculations place you right in the center of the space station - you'd think when you take off from a planet you could go through the space station and when you hyperdrive to a new zone you should be 8000-12000m away from the station. As it is now - if you are on mos eisley and want to fly to bestine real quick it'd take longer then going from theed to bestine thanks to being placed 8000-12000m away from the space station when you take off from a planet.

Ships are very slow because the retarded AI wouldn't pose any kind of threat otherwise, right now they lock you into boring turning fights because they have no sense of evasion. Then SOE decided to make ships undamagable from above to prolong the boring spinning around dogfights and hope some more AI come to the rescue of their retarded comp-u-brethren and get a few lucky shots on you.

I hope you're all ready to jump in your ship, wait for space to load, fly for 5 minutes toward your target, finally have the target spawn when you're waaaay beyond firing range, have your targets killed by a stooge flying around shooting at everything, and then land, load your planet zone, run to your nearest trainer to get another exciting mission of goto X and blow up the Y pirate/flight ace. Weeeeeeeee, star warsy.

Or the even more exciting missions of taking off from naboo, flying to some empty space zone like dantooine to kill the pirate/flight ace, and then unable to take on any more missions because you can't hyperdrive back to naboo space because it's too full. Excitement. (And the best part of that is, it doesn't tell you the zone is too full until you wait the 20-30 seconds for your hyper drive coordinates to compute and finally count down.)

SOE = the world's dumbest game design decisions.

I'm so friggen sick of everytime a "big" game comes out every lame news site and gay fan sites jump on it and act like "OMG You shouldn't pirate THAT!" when every game made gets pirated. Halo 2 is no more special then Deer Hunter 3.
