Cant help but feel such a good game has been marred slightly by some utter idiocy by 2k and Fileplanet.

Still, its a great game and once you are past the ineptitude show by publishers and gamespy, the developers work shines through.

And then epics unfinished engine dumps you to the desktop. :/

Sierra/Vivendi are the ones you really want to bitch at for patch support, they tend to do the bare minimum to support their games once they have your cash.

Be interesting to see how 2k will support bioshock

I'm a bit surprised they can even pull support for Xbox games. Doesn't MS control all the servers for that, not EA?

EA originally wouldnt use xbox live because microsoft wanted to run the servers. EA wanted them to disable online play for games when the next version was release, and MS rightly told them to fuck off.

Eventually they reached a compromise whereby EA runs their own servers and backend that hooks into the live enviroment. They can do what they want with their servers, and MS dont have any control.

The steam server browser is still better than anything made by Gamespy or integrated into other games. :p

Hardly public when you have to pay to participate.

But luckily I had a 10-Day trial subscription code from the dungeon siege 2 beta that I never used, and it actually worked to let me into the beta I think Ill rape their servers for every day of the 10 day period just to get my moneys worth...*cough*

They did work on COH, but they have both left to set up a new studio, which this is the teaser for.

Well another patch would have brought it up to 2 1.42 anyway. Coincidence?

After how they 'supported' Bf2, they were never getting money from me for another BF game.

Beta will probably be for fileplanet subscribers only, seeing as EA are publishing this.

Why would you list "Gamspy multiplayer" as a bullet point.

Its hardly a good feature. I wonder if they will start listing the DRM they slap on the discs, if they are listing all the shit stuff about the games now.

EA said that the bugs in the demo of BF2 would be fixed for the retail version, but it was just one huge fucking lie.

Same thing here I'd bet.

Voice acting is a bit dodgy, but this is a lot of fun.

Shooting monks armed with throwing stars is always great.

If the PS3 continues to be ignored by consumers for another few months, then I can see it becoming a huge problem for Sony.

Publishers will only release games on the PS3 while it has a small install base for a short time. If they see the PS3 not gaining much market share and begin to feel the cost of PS3 game development, they will simply not release games on that platform. Or they just release half-ass ports. Its all about return on investment.

Its already happening now: Look at the number of *big* exclusives sony have lost. And there are rumours that they will be losing a few more major ones soon.

Small install base = Small number of high quality games released = small number of new consoles sold. Its one of the reasons you need to launch early (or near the same time as everyone else), or have a really good gimmick. The PS3 has neither.

The 'heart' of C&C was the funny briefings and slightly cheesy plot.

EA are now removing that and claiming the game has more Heart.

Judging by the tiny increase in version number, they wont be fixing much.
