SWEET!...At least the developers got smart and realized that the player should control the shark and not the people trying to kill it. Just imagine environments like ECCO the Dolphin DOTF and swimming around gnawing stuff to pieces. Fun fun fun.

I don't care about Carmack's hobbies and neither does anyone else here

Speak for yourself, I think it's interesting to hear about what he's doing aside from games.

You have it all wrong! The only way to play this game is with a squad consisting of one team member equipped with light armor and a silenced pistol...

it's fun.

I'll probably be called a "fanboy" for this, but I really don't care...

I bought BCMG last year and enjoyed it. When will you people realize that it's just a game Play it, be objective about it, see if it's the kind of game for you. The battlecruiser games aren't "mainstream" in the way that the player doesn't have their hand held and walked through everything. You have to work with these games and use your imagination. Most people don't have the attention span or just aren't into this type of gameplay. That's great, go play games that you do enjoy and leave Mr. Smart and his games alone.

This is not about censorship, it's about inciting violence," said Mayor Joe Celestin, a Haitian American. "We're going to take it all the way

No, It's all about fear, people don't want to admit it, but deep down inside, everyone is scared...They're scared that their kids are going to get shot up at school, scared that some "riot" will take place in which all the Hatians are selectively targeted. Peope are so dumb, their first impulse is to make this huge, obvious hissy fit which can basically be simplified down to pissing all over yourself in public and screaming about the pepsi that caused you to do so. It wouldn't be a problem if you weren't scared and looking for scapegoats in the first place huh?

Though illegal in all states and a felony in 47, dogfighting is on the rise in the United States, particularly outside its traditional stronghold in the Deep South

Let me guess, Unreal 2 diddn't sell as well as UT2003. So this release is intended to gently massage and stimulate. Working up some excitement untill the community literally EXPLODES with gaming ecstasy. Producing servers that are oozing over the sides with players, calling for even more servers to catch the excess, and still, they all beg for more, and more, MORE!

try opening up the default.cfg in the "data" folder and making it look like this:

/bundle /music /noasserts /nofs /W 640 /H 480

No fullscreen at whatever rez you want. I was having problems with running the demo untill I found this out, it runs in a window, but at least it plays. There is also a way to expand the timelimit for the demo, it involves editing a file with a hex editor or downloading the edited file from somewhere, try looking on the team 17 forums.

Patch Backups? Sep 7, 2003, 15:16
Sep 7, 2003, 15:16

The thing that bothers me about this is the fact that if you want a patch, you have to use this system to do it. I don't see what was so flawed with just finding a server online and downloading the file to your hard drive. This way you can:

A)Know where the patch is and controll where it goes on your harddrive.

B)Can backup the patch on a CDROM or other partition if you loose the internet somehow or have to reformat and don't want to bother with installing more software just to get your game up and running with the most recent version.

If Steam saves a copy of the file somewhere that you can move and backup independently of this system, that's cool, but if not, I think this is a very very bad thing. I do not like the idea of being forced to use anything. Like Valve is saying. "Hey guys! this program we made is so cool, we think you will love it, so we'll shove it down your throat simply because we are Valve and we CAN!"

You willing to pay me $50 for it

lol, maybe, see how long the demo stays fresh. Then again, I'm one of those people who bought Battlecruiser Millenium (the gold version) and actually enjoyed it, so my attention span is abnormally long or something.

However, I am getting my ass handed to me by the AI on a pretty regular basis, so I must be doing something wrong. Any Homeworld fan care to share some tactics

Yeah, even on the easiest setting I'm getting my ass kicked as well, I really havent found out any good strategies other than matching the weaknesses and strengths of the crafts to their targets. Paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper sort of thing. It's hard to juggle all of your ships in the big battles though. Making groups of crafts with similar strenghts and sending them to attack their target of choice while covering their back with ships that are better at what they suck at...

I don't see much "All New" here, certainly nothing that couldn't be done with an expansion pack to Homeworld

You'd be the one to talk huh? Take a look in your profile, every message you've posted has consisted of:

>quote, blah blah blah

OH Really? well that's great, my optinion is witty and amusing!"

anyway...
