So, Minecraft with guns and no actual construction? Pass.

Uh, no. Not even close. That unbelievably inaccurate attempt at nut-shelling leads me to believe you know nothing about either game, lol. There will eventually be actual construction, though. Not brick-by-brick, but placing little pre-fab segments to build strongholds however you like will probably be the bare minimum. You can already do stuff like that in other ARMA 2 mods such as Wasteland.

You could do that years before Wasteland in Warfare. Not to mention the editor.

New pathfinding looks boss. About time.

Lol, a mod for a 4 year old game that was never a big graphical showcase to begin with looks dated? Lol.

There's plenty of shallow good looking shooters out there for you guys to go jerk off to.

Im not sure if that was sarcasm, because ArmA 2 was actually the prettiest game of its time - for a long time.

I gotta say, the graphics, animation and effects leave a lot to be desired.
Blind much?

Thats what I ask myself with people like you. I think its simple fanboyism, if such obvious things are not seen...
Animations often look far cheaper than before. Especially the generic ones. I could leave that as subjective, but looking at trees and ground textures, even someone as blind as you should see how shitty they look. Also bullet impact dust clouds are huge. Almost cant see your target anymore because of them. That auto eye contrast effect also sucks again and is only annoying. And the ancient scope effect is hated in the community already.

Just to name a few...

Its better in some cases and in others its actually worse than ArmA 2.
Hopefully the latter is due to the alpha status.

Right now it feels too much like a generic shooter imo. I fired it up and played 2 hours, and havent touched it since release.
Everything is far too fast, so that it actually looks silly and consolish-cheap. Even the graphics are not much better, and in some cases actually much worse. For example the ground textures have received a lot of criticism, as well as the trees

I like the more direct controls, but as I said, they are far to generic now, making it look like a BF3-wannabe game. But ArmA 2 was so much more than that. Kinda sad to see. All the whiners seem to have gotten their will, just like when they decreased ArmA 2 graphics quality, because so many outsiders whined that their ancient PCs couldnt run it.

Oh and again, they didnt implement proper scopes, even though the community wanted that for ages. They should have taken a better look at Red Orchestra 2, instead of BF3...

What you really need is 3 GeForce Titans.

nah, I think my 660 will be enough. ArmA/OFP was never a huge GPU hogger. I was more thinking about getting a nice quad core Haswell and overclock it to 5 GHz. Oh yeah and a new SSD!

Arma 3 looks fairly graphically intense (although the 660 is a nice card). Not sure the Haswell will give you much of a performance boost, unless you're running something ancient.

As did ArmA 2 when it was released, and it still looks stunning today, when you crank up the view distance. Yet my GTX 260 was enough for quite some time and the game didnt get faster when I decreased graphics. However, when I overclocked my CPU to 3.8 GHz and later bought an SSD, both of those upgrades made a huge difference.

There were two DLC add-ons (PMC and British armed forces) for Arma 2 and one stand alone expansion (operation arrowhead). They've said that DayZ is going to be using an improved version of Arma 2 engine and not Arma 3 - maybe that will change but I doubt it.

There was also the Czech army DLC.

Now that I think of it, I would really like to get some printed maps. I am kinda disappointed that they dont offer them with even the supporter edition. Yet they offer printed maps of Chernarus, Takistan and others in their shop.

I dont care. I actually hope they release 2 expansion, which I would also buy, of course.
I would also like to support them. ArmA 2 had brought me so much fun like no other game before.

And is this finally the last one so I can start playing this game how it was meant to be?

Holy shit they've been at Titan for at least a solid 5 years+ at his point. Even if they announce it you figure it's still 2+ years out given how Blizzard works so there's really nothing to get excited about regardless. And given how they'll monetize the shit out of it now do you really think it's something you'll want to play several years from now?

If its anything like Diablo3 then my answer is simple. No. Isnt Titan a code word though? Im thinking that it will probablybe a Sci-Fi MMO in the Starcraft universe. Its the next logical step, although if they want to make it work it better not be WoW in Space ala SWOTOR....

They stated already that it is a completely new IP. Not that their words mean anything, since they have proven often enough in the past, that they even blatantly lie to their fans.

Hate to sound callous here, but... That pretty much falls into the learn2play category. You need to be more careful and stealthy when you have nothing to defend yourself with. That goes for hostile players and zombies alike. Also learn how to bug out, evasively maneuver, tactically retreat, i.e. run the hell away safely. And avoid big cities like the plague, they are the most dangerous places because there is lots of loot -> lots of players -> lots of fighting.

But if you're going to be so sensitive about dying and having to start over at a moment's notice, you're just not going to like the game, period. That happens to veteran/geared up players, too. Sometimes you just get got, so you live with it and move on. Getting better at the game just means increasing the average period of time in between that happening.

Oh, I dont care if I get killed by normal things like players or Zombies.
But I do mind very much so, if I get killed because I "fall" 40 inches, die because I get too close to a tree or lose months work because tents disappear or are not properly hideable. Not to mention all the "hacked" servers that simply have hacked items laying everywhere, so that you never really know if its hacked or if you really are that lucky to for example find several high capacity backpacks in a supermarket, while on other servers you search ages for a single tent.

Star Trek always was about ethics. Not just action.
TOS was in a time where the world simply wasnt ready for more advanced ethics. And even the stuff they implemented, like colored and Russian people on the bridge, was a huge deal back then. Also it was a 60s theme. You cant expect a 60s series to be like the ones from nowadays. TNG on the other hand made it much clearer.

The remake is an abomination in all kinds of ways, real fans havent accepted it. Only the ones who thought they are real fans and people who werent fans before - exactly like it was planned. This has nothing to do with Star Trek. Even Transformers has more in common with it than real Star Trek.

I certainly recognize that Star Trek was intended to be morality plays all along, and I even said so. I also recognize that the 60's series had their limitations, yet pushed the limit for their time, and the 80's series had could deal with things that weren't a big deal in the 60's. Hell, the TV execs wouldn't let a woman be the 1st officer (Pilot pitch episode), and it was pushing the envelope for Kirk and Uhura to kiss on the air, back then, which neither would be a big deal in the 80s.

That doesn't mean that liking the action portions of the series (either the 60's or the 80's) makes anyone less of a fan... and claiming that they are not a 'real fans' because they don't agree with people regarding the new movie, or that one series vs. another is any more intelligent over another... is asinine. Everyone has a right to their opinion on what the like or don't like... and it is possible to enjoy action while appreciating the morality side as well. People like you look like arrogant asshats that obviously didn't absorb ANYTHING that "Star Trek's "advanced" Ethics" tried to teach.

Who the hell are you (or anyone else) to say whether I'm a "REAL" fan or not? I was probably a fan before your were even born.

I said it already. Because Star Trek, how Roddenberry intended it, was about that, and not only about brainless action and lens flares. These ethics depicted in Star Trek influenced many generations.

Its like putting a VW engine into a Ferrari and then wondering why many people say it isnt a real Ferrari anymore.
Get a clue.

but to at all call it a "Star Trek" movie is pushing it a bit...which is why it's a "reboot."

So you are saying that TOS really isn't Star Trek, and TNG, onward, really is?

I find that rather insulting.

The only reason TOS was campy was because it was extremely low budget, and the television execs didn't understand it, so they put in a shitty time slot, which is why it got cancelled with only 3 seasons. It only caught on when the syndicated re-runs ran early enough for kids to watch it... then the ratings went through the roof, and Star Trek, as the cult classic was born. The ratings in the early 70's were so much higher than the original air-dates, that they made an Animated Series with most of the original cast doing the voices.

Saying or implying that it "isn't really Star Trek", or it isn't "as intelligent as the newer series" is outright blasphemy!
