News Comments > Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy Source Code Released

xwing alliance STILL gets the odd game at our lan parties. It is still a great coop game. Nothing like having a massive space battle with furballs everywhere. You truly could have you and your mates each have a number of wingmen all forming up for a run on a star destroyer (or two!). Given that you could even have an AI run the shitty ywings if you liked.

a most impressive game that really did work for me. Being as there are tons of addons now with lots of hires packs available it still plays well.

Im not sure how a sequel could be done though. I could dream and drool about a 32 player game with epic space battles. Perhaps even the nirvana that is a control of a capitol ship crewed by human player if so desired (perhaps a commander overview map or battery control etc). It wont happen though as it will be too niche.

the problem with the sauron lamp is purely copyright

No matter how awesome it is it wont be made cheaply due to the pound of flesh required.

News Comments > Diablo III Co-Op Improvement Plans
7. Re: Diablo III Co-Op Improvement Plans Apr 3, 2013, 04:53 Armengar

<sigh>
diablo2 =/= diablo3
diablo3 was NEVER ever going to be "diablo2 with better graphics". diablo 3 was always going to be a different style of game with some core similarities.

diablo3 was different and worked for some people and not for others. I *did* play battle.net diablo2 . LOD was released a year after D2? I cant remember exactly as I didnt buy it on launch (unlike D2). D2 wasnt exactly multiplayer sparkling on launch either. There were just as many bots, item hacks and dupes - more so that D3 IMHO. I still remember my games getting visits from bots constantly. Not so on D3 anymore.

diablo3 was ok for me. Ive said this time and time again, for the price I paid I have more than gotten enough entertainment out of it. If you dont like it then dont play it. Indeed, haters are gonna hate.

usual haters and trolls.

Seriously if you dont like it dont play it. I liked D3 and I played it. Got bored and moved on. Occasionally I fire it up and have a game with some friends.

It isnt like blizzard werent up front with the always on DRM. Barring a couple of hours on the first night ive not had any issues (outside my own internet connection) stopping me from playing.

I dont really care that it is an online only game. Most of my games are online only (in a way) since they are multiplayer ones.

god mode was patched out fairly quickly and the dupes arent RAMPANT dupes just the odd batch. It was worse on D2 when you could leave your PC to roll an item for you. I still remember generating a whirlwind mana/life leech weapon for my barbarian. you dont seriously think that a piece of software can be 100% bug proof do you?

no idea what the problem is.

wp8 support runs out in 18 months. so when the "service pack" wp8.1 is released then THAT will have 18 months. When the original 18 months support on wp8 has expired people will either have to update their devices to 18.1 or have no support.

this happens on ALL MS products. When the product is EOL or no further SPs are planned then it is either EOLd or extended support kicks in (look at mobile 5.0 - still on extended support for a few years yet whereas wm6 stopped this year).

It simply means you either update to teh next SP or dont get support. It has nothing to do with being canned.

Im assuming the casino compensated the high rollers as I thought poker match staked player money vs player money with the casino taking a percentage of buy in.

windows 8 is a steaming pile of turd. Good luck using it on a trackpad with a huge start menu. And from an "educate the user" point of view it is awful too. Thank god I can exercise "downgrade rights" at work.

News Comments > Max Payne 3 Steam CD Keys Exhausted
30. Re: Max Payne 3 Steam CD Keys Exhausted Mar 11, 2013, 06:30 Armengar

There's a "<press Enter logo> Skip" icon in the lower right corner of cutscenes once the next level has loaded in the background. The game used cutscenes to hide loading screens.

Me and my friends couldnt figure out why I could skip and they couldnt - took a while to figure I had an SSD with the game on and they didnt so we guessed it was a "hide the loading screen".

on the mouse problem, I recently had the same on my logitech mx518. It was one of the solder pads that the microswitch was soldered too, it had broke away. After a bit of scratching around the track to expose some fresh copper, I simply resoldered the microswitch as voila! fixed mouse.

Echoing below. NS2 probably the main reason I have so many unplayed Christmas steam sale games. Loving it.

Believe you me I stuck with it (and was active in the forums) till the last major patches. It still is too clunky and can never be fixed. Hivers are unplayable due to forced combat with gated systems. The new race has mental micro management issues when coordinating large LV fleets.

It is too much work to play. I think the ui was coded by a sage accountant.

Probably rose tinted glasses. Asherons call was brilliant but I think a retro release would look a fair bit dated.

SOTS2 was a train wreck for me. SOTS1 was great in comparison the sequel was clunky and bugged to hell. Until I see great reviews I can't even be arsed downloading the demo; too many other unplayed steam sale games.

Nah, too many other games on my list. Might check them out on steam sales depending on whatever DRM they have cooked up then.

vietnam era aircraft were rubbish though so I cant see it being fun if accurate. Mig 17 19 and 21 were woeful at best.
