It's really kind of sad the way FB evolved. When it first launched, it was kind of fun reuniting with old friends and long-distance relatives. But you know that it was only a matter of time before it turned into the cesspool of the web. Anything good never really lasts. If you go on there now, it's nothing but brainwashing ads (and tracking cookie based shit) with people arguing over stories that aren't even real. No one even bothers to look up facts, they'd just rather fight (boring lives? I don't know). I've literally seen threads of thousands of comments, people bashing each other and hating, over something that never even happened lol! Really, what's wrong with people these days? They'd rather fight/hate for hours than spend 30 seconds researching facts.

Seems like good timing for me since I just started playing this a couple weeks back. I passed on this when it got released because of all the sour reviews, but the devs must have put a lot of effort into it because I'm having a blast! There's so much to do in this game and the community is funny as hell! The dick parties are a little weird, but funny!

No need for video games in the car if you live in the northeast USA. Driving around here puts any video game to shame. And sometimes you respawn, sometimes you don't.

I suppose the marketing department didn't think Gods and Monsters was catchy enough, so they upped their game with the new catchy title

It's probably going to be good timing for me. I'm riding out a 9 year old desktop cpu (i7 3930k) with a measly gtx 1070. Next year will likely be the time I build my next one when Intel releases their 10nm desktop cpu (I hope). Or I'll just go AMD. I remember a time when I had to upgrade my cpu every year or so. A 10 year stint with one cpu? I never would have guessed it could happen.
Yeah, it was similar for me, I got into a i9-9900, after running the same CPU (i7-920) for a decade or so. It's because intel for a long time now has just been incremental upgrades, 10%-20% per generation. And keeping mhz very similar, just increasing core counts albeit very slowly (yes I know there's been architectural improvements too). And with it taking most of that time to get programs and games working with more than 1 core efficiently. Plus consoles haven't been pushing the edge much CPU wise either.

It will be interesting to see what happens next year. Will Intel still be floundering a little, or did AMD wake a sleeping tiger?

I had a lot of fun playing this co-op. The Division 2 as well! I love a good open-world with a friend, even if it's a bit mindless (i.e. not everyone has the patience for Crusader Kings :D).

The 4k gaming flagship comes severly underdeveloped in the video RAM department with just 10 GB - not enough for 4k gaming in 2020 and on. I guess in 2021 they want to sell a 20 GB 3080 Ti to all people buying a regular 3080 in 2020. No, thanks. I can wait for either the 3080 Ti (or more likely 3070 Ti because I don't want such a hot card in my silent pc) with hopefully more RAM in 2021 or a big Navi with 12 or 16 GB VRAM this year. We will see. But this offer is just too greedy - I am not falling for it, Leather Jacket Man!

200 logos? I didn't know there were that many. I really liked the old ones back from early 2000s. I look at them now and they bring back gaming memories from the golden age

So do I. Maybe they can work them into regular rotation. Like 1 a week on the right side of the header or something with a little blurb about it when it was created and used. That would be a nice trip in the wayback machine.

Yeah, not sure why he doesn't rotate them. They're all pretty cool. At the very least, maybe put some old ones up on anniversaries and other related occasions.

You'll notice an odd chunk of blue background on the old logos that matched the design of the site back then. That said, at some point I'll have a conversation with Frans about this.

That would be cool. It's a pretty easy fix with Photoshop, especially the latest version. It's literally one click to extract from background.

"Windows 95 is 25 years old today"

The beginning of the Start menu era.

I think it tool like 5 major versions of the OS before they removed the word "Start" from the menu button and changed it to the Windows icon (Windows Vista?).
But even to this day (and after they removed the menu in Windows 8), we all still call it the Start menu.

"Honey, how do I turn off the computer?"
"Click on Start..."

Never understood the hate for Batfleck. Probably my second favorite Batman/Wayne, right after Keaton. I even enjoyed the director's cut BvS movie. It was a bit lame in certain parts, but I actually liked it better than the snoozefest that was the third Nolan Batman flick.

Same here. I'm in the minority for not being a big fan of the Nolan flicks with Bale. I'm definitely a big fan of West > Keaton > Afleck. I love watching those cheesy 1960s Batman tv shows. The actors really nailed the characters, too. I mean, Cesar Romaro, Bergess Meredith, Vincent Price, Carolyn Jones, Anne Baxter, etc, etc, come on now!

Im like the biggest Fallout1 and 2 fan ever. Im one of "those" people who have played through these two games more times than I would like to admit, and feel that while Bethesda's games have merit (Especially New Vegas, which is made by Obsidian) they have not come close to the greatness of the classic Fallout games, especially Fallout 2.

With all of that said, I could never get into Wasteland and 2. I have no idea why. Something about those games just feels, weird, soulless? I don't know.

I took a chance and bought Wasteland 2, played it for a couple hours, uninstalled it.

I've noticed that the older I get, the less I'm interested in certain genres: story-based isometric crpgs, action hack 'n slash isometric view e.g. Diablo, theme park mmorpgs (I haven't played or seen one worth playing since WoW), turn-based rpg/strategy (e.g. Wasteland, xcom, etc), and some 3rd person spam 'n roll combat oriented action games with boss fights (e.g. God of War).

While I was excited about the announcement of this game (because I really enjoyed the first 2 back in the day), I have this feeling that it just won't keep my attention for long (like Divinity Original Sin 2).

I'm getting old

That's been pretty much the nature of pc gaming for years, hence the nice bonus when upgrading your hardware. On the other hand, console ports took away that bonus.

Facebook has turned into the virtual cesspool of the world. What started with a good idea became a platform for hate, intolerance, self-entitlement, disinformation, and prejudice. I can't imagine any software/hardware having a requirement to create a Facebook account. It looks like the Index will be on the Steam top 10 list again

If organizations just implement Anti-Harassment policy and Complaint procedure (I mean, most have them now), then it would not be an issue. There are training/guidelines and procedures that are easy to follow. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for some organizations. It's fairly standard now.

Second, reporting harassment can be even more traumatizing than the harassment itself, so if people think a person is just trying to "cancel" another person for other reasons, you're wrong. The various steps that an org and the people involved have to take is very draining and stressful, and usually costs the org a lot of time and money. So put a f'n policy and procedure in place!

Avoiding to hire people who you think are "most likely to file a complaint" is the most idiotic recommendation I've heard yet.
