Actually, you should read up on Ultima X. Looks like they're aiming to 'raise the bar' in mmorpgs. The elimination of running for 15 minutes to find your friends, level grouping, and 'click and watch' combat is a damn good start. The fact that I'll be able to play for an hour or two and actually have fun sounds good to me.

Here's a good start if interested: http://www.uxoo.com/faqtree.php

The 'C' also stands for Crappy RPG. I've played a few of those.

as you get older, time goes faster. I remember a year going by seemed like a lifetime. Now that I'm older, years go by like minutes.

thanks for the advice, Drew. Now we know what games we should be playing. It will be a bit difficult at first... you know, using our brains. But I'm sure we'll get the hang of it. And before long, we'll all be a gamer like you. Thanks!

Well isn't that his target audience? It's a great review if you look at it that way.

The only reason I like bots in a mp game is so that I can get used to the maps before I go online. But that's definitely not something I'd whine about. And the cheater/hacker excuse is just pathetic. Who said that?

"The combat in SH2 was so bad I couldn't bare to play more than about an hour."

I totally agree with that assessment.

Well I'll have to say that I wasn't a big fan of the first one. I loved the mechanics of the game; it was the atmosphere that I didn't like. It kind of had a Blade Runner (the movie) feel, and I'm just not a big fan of that environment. The rpg elements was a nice touch, and I do love rpg's. The story was kind of slow... and didn't interest me at all.

But in the end... will I buy this one? Probably. I love games enough to spend the money... keep the industry flowing.

Thief on the other hand, was one of the best games I've ever played. Definitely in my top 5. And I'm really looking forward to Thief 3.

"Yeah, I never understood why people despise Myst so much."

That's because most people are too stupid to solve the puzzles. When people bash games like this it can be easily translated to "hey, I'm stupid. Give me a fake gun so I can shoot moving targets instead!"

I'm definitely looking forward to the puzzles in this game. That's what I thought was so great about the previous games... not so much the graphics.

I definitely don't want it to be like Tribes 1. I want fresh, new gameplay. If I want to play Tribes 1, I can just install it. There are still lots of people playing that game. I want a fresh experience... new weps, new vehicles, new game modes, better animation, more voice commands, better maps. Tribes 1 had about 2 really good maps... the rest were unbalanced. T:V should retain the basic concept of both T1 and T2, but make it so that a solo player can still have fun.

Tribes 2 was a great game. The only problems was that they tried to make it more like team warfare, but didn't anticipate the fact that lots of idiots play online games so it's incredibly difficult and frustrating to rely on your team members.

"the sad thing is that no one is even playing this game. "

that's because we already played it years ago. That's if you own an xbox or know someone who has one.

I agree... I just can't buy into the fact that a hacker got in there and took everything. I work as a programmer for a very small software company, and we're not even allowed to access the Internet with the machines we use to access the source tree. It's just too vulnerable. In fact, we're not even allowed to use Outlook or IE on those machines... not even for our Intranet. Something's fishy...

I agree. This is definitely my choice for 'sleeper hit' of the year. The game is awesome. See? There are still some game companies out there who design quality games.
