don't know but i liked the darkness and after putting the flashlight switch on the right mouse button, i had not so much problems without light.
also i liked the pdas and nightmaremode :-)
of course it could never come close to d1&2 but the times are different

tho im pretty sure red alert was originally meant to tie in with the tiberium timeline in some way.
the first one did (in the final cutscenes, if i remember correctly) but in the second was no connection anymore.

even though alternate is for alternative description (f.e. for browsers for blind people) so it is a rather thin difference in meaning at least for me (most of the time i end up writing the same text into the alt / title attributes maybe cutting the title infos a little short).

I had a buch a week or so ago but they are gone right now.
Edit: Gone as in Google took away the invites I was sitting on - Didn't use them fast enough or possibly they only dish them out for a limited time.

i am just wondering whats happening to the unannounced new id game that not a continuation of doom/quake is.
as i understood´, it should be based more or less on only a slightly extended doom 3 engine, now if they first develop the expansion, carmack has enough time to create a new engine so that the level designers have again problems creating levels with the new tech
half life 2, doom3 exp, quake 4, castel wolfenstein 3(?)
what ever happend to another command & conquer or red alert ?

this is really reminding me of the good old times with debates over quake I and duke3d in some of the old newsgroups :-)
i really like doom3 even though there could be things improved, i probably will really like HL2 when it is released for different reasons ( the movies released yesterday didn't impress me very much though ) and duke nukem 4ever.
there are enough games for everyones taste, and all will sell good enough to keep id,valve & 3drealms in this business

hm the code for the bfg room is in one of the pdas you collect very early in the game...
you can kill the seekers pretty good with the rl if you have ammo left for that one
oh just remembering:
after teleporting to hell, you have no weapons at all (that kind of includes not having the bfg)
it is on a ledge in a room with 3 hellknights (one after another not at the same time), kind of easy to overlook... closer to the end i believe

hm right now i am replaying on nightmare,
i like it, kind of different then normal (because you are better of running and i really like the soulcube :-)
but it will surely be interesting to see how the remake(s) of the original turn out
