OK... I just rescued that female jedi girl and I have a wookie and a teenage brat to play with.. does the game get any better? I mean I go in with a gun shoot a few people and everyone dies. I don't even see why they bothered making it turn based. Where is all this immersion everyone is talking about? Have I missed something or should I stick it out and play longer? Does it get better once you turn jedi?

Read an interesting article in CGW this month on Pacific Theatre... have to say I'm waiting for that one... it seems like it'll blow Call of Duty out of the water by making you give a damn about your squadmates.

Anyways, I'd give my nod to Call of Duty as well... it's a totally crank up your speakers and immerse yourself into quality game.

I was more intrigued by the free expansion news.... how many MMOG's these days do that?? It's shocking!

I thought the basis of this type of game was that you pay a monthly fee and this content was what you were paying for?? I guess they're limiting how much they release each month and instead allow this content only to people who pay even more...

The problem I see with preordering to get access to demos is that this excludes the international community. I didn't see a link for UK sites to preregister... seems like one more company that's not thinking outside of the box (US).

Has Mrs Blue now been upgraded to having her own on-line handle of MrsBlue? or has she always been MrsBlue? or maybe it's because we hear about Hudson more than Mrs Blue that it looks weird to see her in a post....

First off, I haven't even looked at the game yet, but might just be me but I find the comments about $15 a month a little unedumacated... You don't have to pay anything for the game. You can try for 10 days. If you like it then you pay just $15. Then you can play it for 40 days. If you still like it pay for one more month. Thats $30. Which I have to say is a hell of a lot cheaper than most MMORPG that come out where you have to buy it first for $50-$60 and then pay monthly.

"bothersome: I haven't noticed any. There's ICBMs and Nukes, but every nation gets those. Plus there's the nasty Apocalypse countdown on the nukes. "

There's also the techs that after the library is fully researched that you can research...

I think (without looking) you have:
1. Any game winning criteria that you meet will end game instantly.
2. All units produced instantly.

and then there's two others.

"As for unique units, I noticed each nation really only has 2, maybe 3."

When each game goes to launch you get something showing the unique units... I believe the number you were looking for is 6 or 7.

I have to disagree with you on this one... there's so many game ending techs that any game should not really last more than an hour... hour and a bit at the most... as designed.

Multiplayer is real time with a lot of methods of customisation.

Craw... it just seems to have the polish that EE was missing. It plays like a finished product which is all too rare these days. The game play is also quite a bit different than EE... it plays like itself and not like any other RTS. The polish is the main thing... the more I play this game the more I like it and I started off loving it... Each time I play I notice something different. Then see everything that is in the full retail version vs. the demo and I think you're in for a treat and won't be disappointed in this game.
