Still can't believe they released JC3 without MP/co-op support... JC2 was just crying out for it.

I got bored of JC3 after 13h.
If it had had MP/CO-OP, I'd still be playing it!

Won't be buying JC4 without co-op at launch!

God, I would love to have co-op play in Just Cause 3. The most similar type of game I can think of that had this was Mercenaries 2, which turned a somewhat average experience into something hilarious and awesome.

I want to see Just Cause get the same treatment!

The 26 min let's play video of Alani shows exactly why I enjoy Battleborn so much more than Overwatch. Overwatch is fun in short bursts, but like bubblegum the lack of progression and complexity leaves me sated after a few matches.

Battleborn is just so much more complex, meaningful account and character progression, gear farming and selection, mutation unlocks, leveling up during the match, multiple objectives on the map, 30 minute matches, PvE and PvP content, actually unique and different gameplay modes, etc...

Steam shows I have 2 hrs in TF2 and I have 220 hrs in Planetside 2. I just like deeper games.

Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. Overwatch just really wasn't satisfying for me to play over the long-term, but I keep coming back to Battleborn over and over again. Something with the gameplay style is just really addictive and enjoyable for me, and I really love the dialogue between the various characters. Overwatch just feels like a bunch of frantic action.

I get that it's not for everyone, but it's a real shame the amount of hate Battleborn is getting because it's honestly not bad.

So just to be clear, does this free weekend include co-op campaign play? I've been waiting to try that out.

That was epic!

Really enjoyed first two, so looking forward to this. They better bring back the awesome co-op campaign gameplay though.

Agreed! The full campaign co-op in the second game and it's respective expansions was fucking terrific. Co-op has been the primary motivator for me playing through them over and over again.

I really hope they do it again.

Perhaps, but a 2142 sequel would have better MP mayhem with huge maps and vehicles. CoD 2142 would obviously have the single player campaign edge however, since DICEs SPs are very Poo.

SP is the weak point of CoD.

Is it? Sorry but I've gotta disagree - I've always enjoyed playing the CoD games exclusively for the singleplayer and all the crazy scripting / story events that happen. Hoping this one turns out good too.

Agreed - I remember hearing about this game a long time ago and then it sort of disappeared into the void. Glad to hear it's finally getting somewhere! Will be watching this to see if it turns out to be any good.

overhyped Indie garbage

Can you explain why?

I haven't played this game yet but I'm pretty interested in trying it out - I like the art style and it sounds like it has an interesting story. What's wrong with it that makes it "garbage"?

So this is one genuinely promising FPS on the horizon, but nobody`s interested. Let`s wait for another Doom-bashing thread instead, shall we.

Totally interested here -- the co-op missions sound neat. Hoping they turn out decent.

But... why would you play this when we have Overwatch and Overwatch is going to stomp this game just like it will stomp TF2.

Overwatch doesn't have a singleplayer / co-op campaign. Battleborn does (and my LAN group enjoyed what we played out of it in the beta), so Battleborn is getting our money.

Looks neat, actually! I really enjoyed experiences like SOMA (after I disabled the enemies - I'm a pansy) and more recently Adr1ft, and this doesn't look too far off from those.

So long as this has a good story it looks like something I'll enjoy. Think I'm going to give it a shot.

It all sounds so exciting until you realize the VR experience is mostly an exercise in how long you can stand having a hot, heavy headset strapped to your head.

The effect of being able to fully immerse into a 3d world is cool but not for the length of time I spend in most games, several hours at a time.

I've played Elite Dangerous with my DK2 for several hours at a stretch and it hasn't really been a problem? Sometimes I'll want to take quick 5 minute breaks when I'm docked at a station or something, but I guess it's the same when I play without VR as well.

I don't understand why people keep thinking this will be such a big issue. Like everything it'll vary from person to person of course, but in my own case I've had no real problems with it.

It's definitely a niche game, but it is very impressive and good looking for what it is.

The fact that it is one guy is pretty amazing. If he really did get screwed, it's kind of tragic.

I have NO IDEA why I enjoy what is basically a mud simulator, but this game is one of the few that stays on my hard drive, long term. I don't play it all the time, but I do come back and play it.

It's been surprisingly fun at LAN parties too. Working together as a team with the various vehicles to complete objectives (and help each other when we get stuck) has been pretty entertaining.

Not really seeing much for me in the Vive. I'm not interested in standing up and walking 3 inches around the cluttered glorified closet my computer sits in so that advantage is kind of void. I'm also not really interested in using some weird controllers for gimmicky games. I just want the head tracking and immersion.

Your neck will quickly tire of head tracking, I'll predict...which will destroy the immersion--such as it will be.

This has never happened in the many hours of playtime I've put into Elite Dangerous with my DK2. The weight difference from having the headset on is negligible for me (and I'm not exactly an obsessive body-builder).

I DO find I need to take a quick break every hour or so to rest my eyes (which works fine with the game because I can check up on news, etc once I'm docked at a station after a long trip), but my neck has never gotten tired.

I get that...but it takes you three years to do anything in X-land that is fun.

Disagreed - sort of. My favorite thing to do in the X3 games was to just use the built-in script editor to give myself a bajillion credits from the get-go, and then slowly build up a self-sustaining station / hub complex that could eventually produce weapons, ship parts, and even ships for my needs. Then I'd load a bunch of custom-outfitted fighters into a fleet of capital ships and take over the galaxy, one sector at a time!

Naturally some of the later race war / sector takeover mods made this a lot more entertaining. But yeah, if you skip the initial grind the X games can be tons of fun.

Believe it or not, I've actually had a few good LAN parties around Farming Sim 2015. There's some great potential to comedy there, in addition to a surprising amount of satisfaction at growing your resources, selling them off, and expanding your infrastructure to get a bunch of cool new toys.

Different story for me - I really enjoyed the Batmobile stuff and actually thought AK was a lot of fun now that they've fixed it. A real shame this game had such a shitty initial release because it deserved better.
