Yep, I also Beta Tested Eve Online:The Second Sleeping. Sorry Rigs, the game is boring as hell, not that SWG is really any better, I played the 14 Day Trial for about 4 hours and couldn't stand it anymore, and I like the MMO model, just that these recent MMO's are boring (don't have any input into CoH though).

Actually, after posting here I went over to the Novalogic JO forums and many people with high-end rigs were having similar problems.

Hmm, not sure then, I have a P4 3.0 Ghz, 2 Gb RAM, and a ATI 9800 Pro (which is supposed to be slow??) and I consistantly get around 30 FPS (more when screen is not so busy) and I play on 100+ person servers all the time with all graphic settings to the highest. I think my lowest FPS was around 24 when the screen had a huge amount of objects on it but even that isn't horrible.

It could be the engine, or it could be the drivers that people are using, hard to tell.

The demo just runs like crap, even on the lowest settings. Was anyone able to play the demo decently?

4600 ti 128 mb

xp home

The Dev states the minimum CPU speed should be 1.2 Ghz (which I know from experience is a Slide Show) but recommends a P4 2.4 Ghz (I have a 3.0 Ghz with all details highest and it runs good, just recently upgraded from the 1.2 Ghz), this is from the box. You should be able to judge by that. Personally, I'd say the min should be P4 2.x Ghz or greater.

Why no cool boats? On foot combat gets old. Tanks would make it so much better. Foot vs foot is like quake with 1 hit kills.

It's obviously that you haven't played the released game, the demo does give a limited amount of vehicles, but I can, from now a full's day worth of playing, say that there are PLENTY of vehicles in the game. No, no tanks... yet, but there are armoured vehicles with heavy cannons. And you Vipermmx, of all people, should know that Dev's will fix bugs (as you so much back Soldner with that exact arguement) and add to the game as time goes on. JO has a GREAT starting foundation and it will only get better.

And yes... there ARE cool boats, awesome friggin gun ships, HUGE hovercrafts etc. You just simply are not talking from experience, if you haven't played the full, released game then you are only making an assumptious opinion, and whule thats your right to have an opinion, I can, from experience, say you are wrong. Sorry dude.

Ahh, thanks for the heads up, I'll keep an eye out for 4.7. I'm doing 'ok' with the FR, so far my enjoyment hasn't been decreased by them at all, and if they are going to improve then all the better.

Went out and bought this. Was playing the demo yesteday, defending a base, the nme's chopper came flying in, I shot my RPG rocket at it, missed the cockpit but blew off the whole tail section of the chopper and that sorry chump went right down... at that point I said, "I need to buy this".

With a good rig and a full server this game is NUTS!!

I just updated my PC (3.x Ghz) and re-tried the new Joint Operations Demo (1.2 Ghz played it like a slide show) and must say I am VERY impressed. I can now play the game with all graphic settings to highest and the detail is fantastic. I was flying an attack chopper and brought it back to reverse and could see the engine heat blur my vision in the cockpit, was pleasantly surprised.

I think the vehicles work and fly just fine and the team work is fun (when its there). I haven't quite decided if I will buy it or not but it has my attention.

And I just upgraded my PC to a 3.0 Ghz, ASUS MoBo, 2 Gb RAM, ATI 9800 Pro (not part of the upgrade, old system). All for under $700

Certainly some of the "non-white" male and female contestants who made it deserve to be there, but not as many as they picked. Hell even a couple "white" people shouldn't even be in the finals as they weren't funny, they were just people that the 'production' team felt would make waves in the 'house'. So it didn't really come down to talent in the end, just what looekd better for ratings.

There is a show called last comic standing on TV. The judges were drew carey, brett butler and 2 other people I forget.

Yeah, I watched that last night also, and the selection was crap. The one guy from NY was killing me, the one with the crappy apratment and he had gone to Law School and the one that told the cameras to screw at the end of the show, his timing was great and he had an awesome set. The show is TOTALLY fixed, they just picked a token person to represent some male or female ethnical group and sexual orientation (your token unfunny gay guy) for TV ratings, stupid. I'm not going to even watch it anymore, dumb.

Yeah, same boat. The Spring and Summer house improvement costs are killing me this year. But if the up and coming games are as punishing as JO then I really don't have much of a choice. Maybe a simple MOBO/CPU/RAM upgrade, I have a good Video Card and an adequate sound card.

This game has made my rig obsolete :|. My 1.2 Ghz chip is now a slide show maker. Min Req is 1.4 Ghz... good god.
