I'm very disappointed in the south park link. That's old...we want new stuff!

They patched SS:FE. And SS:SE. And they abandoned the 1.5 patch for SS:SE because barely anyone played the game anymore and it wasn't worth their time.

This is the second patch for SS2. The first one was 3 months ago.

They never sold out to Microsoft. Microsoft has no power over Croteam and won't be firing anyone. Croteam is an independent developer that publishes through Take Two Games under the 2K Games label.

Oh, but we all know that publishers have no control over what platforms games get developed for and when they get released, even for independent developers...

Well, for this there's technically been 0 "patches," though there's been 2 fixes released. The better question is, how sad is it when there's much more progress post-release of a demo than there is after releasing Battlefield 2 to retail...

Can someone fill me in...when did IGN buy Blue's News? I mean come on, there's only about 9 bazillion sites with game previews on them, but oh, let's post 99% of our links to a company that was just a week ago facing a shitstorm for poor journalistic integrity (i.e. changing a reviewer's score on a game).

Makes sense to me.

And on that note, here's a 30 minute in-game Serious Sam II video, with an interview of the game's producer at the same time - http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=958

The flares in my mod are a lot less bouncy. Shouldn't be too hard to look at the differences and tweak it.

Funny thing is, I myself won't be using the flare mod, I just thought it'd be a good idea after seeing people complain about the lack of lighting, and figured it was more creative and limiting, and also a cooler effect than just duct taping a flashlight onto the gun.

I plan on playing through Doom 3 untouched, as it was meant to be by iD, but I just wanted to see if I could do this, and it turned out pretty well

For a future release I hope to have it so that you can have both grenades AND flares, and when you pick up grenades it adds the same amount of flares to your inventory.

They could've just not been douchebags to begin with. Yet another reason why allowing software patents is as stupid as allowing patents on math formulas. Imagine if a company had a patent on the pythagorean theorem. FFS.

The demo is a bit rough for a reason. I'm fairly sure it's based on a code base that's practically a year old, which the developer actually had no control over. Remember, developers have no control over actual release schedules...things have actually changed between the demo and the full game. For example, the AI was tweaked, and locational damaging has been addressed.

John - There is a way to switch between your squadmates on command, and it's *very* useful. For example, you could have Alpha 2 and 3 regroup to Alpha 1, then switch to Alpha 4 and have Alpha 5 regroup to him. You could then have the two different squads you just created split up, and say...surround/ambush an enemy from both sides...

The readme wasn't actually included with the demo for some reason, but I posted the one that came with the press demo from a few months ago, as it has some useful commands and tips.

Heh...oops. After poking around inside some of the files that come with the demo, I realized it comes with 3 complete levels and a cutscene, as well as tons of music - http://www.seriouszone.com/cms/news.php?action=view&newsid=1366

It is the same version as the press demo from January, although a few things have been modified (I think co-op works now, unlike in the other copy). We were given the files by Playlogic with permission to release them though, so download away. I just wish our download link could at least be listed first, seeing as we actually released the file in the first place...

One word: Contracts. Khaeon actually is working under a new publisher now, but there's nothing they can do about Alpha Black Zero.

My personal favorite is eDome (at the top), but there's plenty of other mirrors if that doesn't work so hot - http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=848

Looks like the one that you should be bothered to watch you pass on. This is the official 3 minute trailer of the game, packed with tons of action from numerous locales within the game. And unlike some of the other ones...there's no overlayed graphics or logos...just tons of free download mirrors at http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=805

(Right now there's 10 different mirrors listed...with a total of 11 shortly)

Deer Hunter 2003 uses the Serious Engine (now there's something to be proud of! ;). I think Bird Hunter 2003 did as well...not sure on that one though.

Another officially announced game that's coming up that uses it is Alpha Black Zero. It was in the morning screenshots a day or two ago. Here's the pics - http://www.seriouszone.com/gallery/abz

Also, Battlecruiser 3000 AD, as previously mentioned, uses it.

I think there's one or two others that haven't been announced yet but I'm not sure.

For those of you wondering why we moved, in short, it's because Gamespy fucked with us WAY too much. Read up:
