I doubt there'll even ever be another format war because game media will become passť with downloading/subscription models becoming the norm.

That won't happen until the US pulls its head out of its ass regarding broadband speeds. I think we lag the world in terms of broadband bandwidth capacity significantly.

Uh no. Leave the useless customization trash to Sim Ricer when someone gets around to making it. All I want is a fun arcade racer, which is what NFS used to be.

10. Re: ... May 21, 2007, 13:56 DrEvil

Supreme Commander is horribly CPU limited as is. DX10 could potentially reduce that a bit, but probably nowhere near spending that same time optimizing the game as a whole can, and for a much wider user base.

Don't buy it you fucking whiney cunt. Simple solution.

You can spin your bullshit about "FORCING you to buy HL2 and EP1" or you can accept that they are raising the price of EP2, TF2, and Portal, because that is all it is.

Consider the extra keys a bonus, and likely an attempt to simplify it for consumers and give them everything they need in one box, and not get home and realize they cant play what they bought without buying another game.

If you don't think Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half-Life: Episode Two are worth your $50, then don't buy it. I plan on easily getting that much out of TF2 alone, I couldn't care less about the other shit. To each their own. I'm still waiting for Steam prices. Fuck retail.

14. changelog May 11, 2007, 16:45 DrEvil

Saved games.

Saved games from 1.0001 version will work with 1.0003 version.

Connectivity.

Connecting to the server will be possible only if the host's version of the game is the same as yours.

The patch addresses the following changes:

* Added some textures of certain objects (for technical purposes).
* Added console command 'sv_listmaps' to view the list of maps queue.
* Added the support for additional mouse buttons (now they can be bound to certain actions).
* Fixed bugs with player's character health bar in Multi-player.
* Fixed the crash upon making the screenshot to a saved game.
* Fixed the bug with standing dead bodies upon connecting to the game.
* Fixed inventory items placing system (Free for all and Team play modes).
* Fixed the enumeration of the game's version.
* Fixed the crash with using Numpad in some localizations.
* Fixed the crash on the level "Military warehouse".
* Fixed the crash while idling on the pause menu
* Fixed the crash in dialog with Professor Sakharov on the Yantar level.
* Fixed the storyline task "Meet with the Guide", now you can get it by searching Ghost's corpse.
* Fixed the bug with NPCs spawning in front of the player.
* Fixed the A-life reaction time. Now A-life spawns new NPCs more seldom. Also NPC movement speed is decreased when NPC are on different level then the player.
* Binary files are now compiled with large address aware flag that supports up to 3GB address space (relevant for Windows VistaT users).
* Added the possibility to record/play the camera fly-around ('demo_record'/'demo_play' commands). Now Stalker is ready for benchmarks.
* Fixed aspect ratio 16/9. Now the owners of the widescreen displays will have the benefit from greater viewing radius.
* Fixed various crashes with dedicated server.
* The network packets have been merged. This will make the ping reduce twice or more.
* The correctness of map name is now verified when changing the map using the console.
* Fixed the dragging of dead bodies by monsters.
* Now dumps will be saved upon the game crashes.
* Fixed the in-game patching system for all localizations.
* Fixed the problem with the exceedingly long players' names.
* Fixed textual problems for 16/9 video format.
* Fixed game freezing upon trying to connect to a different version.
* Fixed binocular Spectator crash.
* Fixed non-existent grenade launcher firing.
* Fixed players turning invisible when reduced to a minimal amount of health.
* Fixed pre-selected skin not allowing for player spawn.

Haven't been following this game in too much detail, but does this mean you can't host your own server?

Free or not, it's not very fun. We lanned it 5 players here at work for a while today. I think it sets a new low for worlds worst air vehicle controls. Pushing piles of boxes around is neat for a minute or two, after that it has nothing. The vehicles in general are 100% useless. Bad performance is to be expected, but the gameplay just isn't worth a shit. To each their own. If you enjoy it that's cool.

Nice try fuckhead, especially considering I'm probably older than you. Fucking queer.

It needed a reboot, which can normally be ignored for most games that ask. It's playable after, and still a horrible game. Nothing to see here.

This running like dog shit for anyone else? Duel core 3.2 GHz, 3G of Ram and a 7800GTX. Doesn't seem to be GPU related. Seems pointless to have a software mode if its unplayable.

nm guess this is a game that needed a reboot.

horrible game though.

They need to take a hint from MS and make a console that is easy to develop for.

Most boring movie ever. None of those effects are new or even next gen. Their environment gives them plenty of chances to show it off. A meaningful movie would be cool, like the really cool one on xbox live.

Cannabis has no physical addiction to it. So nobody is 'dependent' on Pot.

Bull shit. I personally knew quite a few 'pothead' addicts long ago. May not be a chemical addition as much as it's an addiction to how it makes them feel but it can be addiction either way. I do agree that pot isn't a big deal, and should be legalized and taxed like cigarettes. It's much less harmful than alchohol.
