Haze looks like the most mediocre shooter I've seen in some time.

by cooperative campaigns does that mean you are allied with other computer controlled factions, or that you can actually play the game cooperatively with another player?

People don't claim that using the bot is fun. What they claim is that it is a mechanism that allows them to automate the lame grinding inherent to every mmo to get to 'end-game' faster where they can then actually start having fun. Max your levels so that aspect of the grinding is over and you can just explore/raid/whatever. IMO there is value in that from a player standpoint, but at the same time it's well within Blizzards rights to ban users of it, as it is clearly cheating, however stupidly that MMO games are designed as time sinks.

How is gameznflix ? Haven't heard of it before you mentioned, but it's appealing that it combines gamefly and netflix for cheaper. How long you had it? Had to wait for requests much? etc.

2P0X1 ex AF here too. Boring job. Got out Sept 1 2001 after a year of tech school and 3 years at Elmendorf, AK. Went back to school, now an AI programmer at Pandemic. It was worth it for the help with school.

5. Re: No subject Mar 12, 2008, 19:12 DrEvil

It doesn't ruin anything for me, as it is still possible to die, and there is still the tension of trying to get to safety to recover if you run in to an area and get overwhelmed. I prefer it to keeping an old style health # on screen and having to collect health packs or whatever. That was/is the least fun aspect of any shooter I've ever played.

It's a player and developer friendly way to do health/damage etc. Few people give a fuck about realism. Developers can tune every encounter with the expectation the player will have 'full health' and not have to worry about frustrating players with progression halting issues from an 'old style' health system and/or having to sprinkle health packs everywhere, especially before big encounters.

To each their own. It's an improvement over a numeric health as far as I'm concerned.

He continues to make some of the best tech in the industry. How his company uses that tech for whatever game doesn't mean a thing about his technical ability.

Do yourself a favor and get adblock(and Filterset.G). I haven't seen an ad on any site for a couple years. It's down right trivial to block that shit. Whining about it isn't the way to do it.

There's little reason for EA to change what they've been doing with a franchise like Madden when it's still being eaten up by fans.

I don't see how they are reaching blue ray capacity unless they are going the Lost Odyssey route and including shitloads of pre-rendered HD video, or not using compression, etc.

As long as MMOs have such a grind component where getting all the decent shit and/or enough money to get the good shit takes large amounts of time, there will always be people paying real money to buy game items/currency. It's a simple matter. Some people value their time more than others, and would rather blow some extra disposable income if it helps them get equipment or a character needed to get them to a point in the game they can enjoy without suffering through the grind, or taking that time.

Don't expect too much from the blues crowd. Just like slashdot everyone thinks they are qualified to comment on every article, even having not read it. Also just like slashdot the summary is often taken out of context or just plain sensationalized.
