Long awaited by whom?? The legions of fans of a looks-just-like-Lithtech engined Deus Ex clone full of garish lights??

Indeed. This is a very good trailer - good size, lots of action, lots of variety, and comprehensive. When watched whilst remembering the preview which described the storyline set-up and the coop play, this is really rather exciting and looks like it could be a real sci-fi/tactical hit if they pull it off.

break from sequel naming conventions is consistent with ION's recent Deus Ex: Invisible War.

And will they be buggering up and dumbing down the gameplay for the console market consistently with DX: IW too??

I can't believe they think they're fooling anyone with this - how more obvious can they make it, giving it a cheesier stand-alone name obviously designed to sell to the console market rather than proudly continuing the tradition of a fine, well reputed PC game series. And if that doesn't bring along a whole series of glaring design / gameplay errors with it....well...

New? Or more like taken directly from the hi-res E3 trailer.

Edit: If you mean the lower ones and the next page, BTW, they've been around for ages too.

In order to maintain a high standard of graphical quality, we increased the number of levels so that the player could experience the story without any corners being cut. This resulted in a better looking, more evenly paced game spread over more levels.

WTF?? Increasing the number of levels !!!!!= improving the graphics. What on earth is he on about??

This was the first time Kuju had done an FPS

Good choice, GW =/.

The graphics for the game were particularly special.

Really?? Then how come from everything I've seen and heard about it, it looks like previous generation ARSE??

This should have been SLAUGHTERED in retrospect as an utter embarrassment to the awesome potential inherent to a GW FPS game.

Looks absolutely atrocious from the screenshots of the enviroments / enemies. A real grim mishmash of unthemed nonsense reminiscent of the bad old days of ultra-low-quality Quake mods. Shouldn't there be some QA on stuff like this getting made news??

nope, those are not new shots. As I said.

Recent, yes, but they've been at PlanetDoom for at least a week. But I won't argue with the "amazing" bit.

The demo offers solo and multiplayer action, as well as a benchmark, all for a 64 MB download.

It offers one lousy DM map that is used for dm, botmatch, and the benchmark demo. What the fuck did they do with the rest of the 64 meg??

Q2 graphics & map complexity with fog and shiny surfaces. Uninspiring movement (headbob, slowing down with weapons), pointless features (time delay WtF?), cheesey monsters, no atmosphere, no purpose, some old tiresome botmatch. And some keybinds don't work. Horrible.

Edit: forgot some suckage.

So much has changed in the ensuing time it is quite staggering to consider...

What exactly has changed? Apart from a couple of countries are a bit more aggressive towards a couple of other countries, two big towers and an OOTB have disappeared.

I'm asking seriously, I don't follow the news...
