I wonder if it's something like a cell phone MMO or something crazy.. or maybe less crazy and more like a X360 MMO? Could be...

I'd rather have late games than half-baked ones. The most recent Vampire and KOTOR sequels come to mind!

... don't they realize that the Xbox 360 is a custom PowerPC solution that has no parallel in the PC world? It will have to be solved with a porting process the same as it has always, except perhaps aided by a Xbox "Platform" SDK of library calls. They are likely making it like coding to OpenGL is on several different platforms: you still need to port the rest of the code that is non-transferrable. And unless PC has a subscription based Live service and joystick coming out very soon then those whole interfacing schemes are out the window as well.

To #18:

They have already said that in the Marvel one you will not be playing *as* any of the famous characters. You will however earn their signature moves by doing their quests.

WoW isn't the same setting as CoH. If fantasy doesn't appeal to you at all, CoH can still compete in the same space with different users. Also, WoW hasn't officially launched in Europe yet-- it is still in beta.

"Oh, and as for Dvorak being better than QWERTY? Urban legend. http://reason.com/9606/Fe.QWERTY.shtml"

I enjoyed this article but I have to point out that there is a slight discrepency in the examples they actually provide: when describing the Caligraph non-QWERTY speeds in demonstration for 5-minutes it beats the competition results for QWERTY and non-QWERTY layouts alike further down. No further details are given as to whether the Remington QWERTY champion ever faced off against the two previously mentioned "record-holding" demonstrators of the Caligraph typewriter.

That should read:
"mostly monster-in-closet experience, and minimal multiplayer."

#18, apparently you aren't remembering the horrible AI for the game. God help you if you were standing in front of one of your teammates and they were armed with a machine gun, as they were likely to try to burst shot directly behind you at the enemy and end up tearing you apart into goo. Wonderful.

In reply to #7:
"The second and third iterations of the genre have been "evolutionary rather than revelotionary." They've just refined the gameplay some what and in the case of SWG, they've "refined" the fun right out of it. Technology is going to have to take a few steps up before any real innovation occurs and before we see mass acceptance."

Funny, I thought the game wasn't any fun to begin with.

Wasn't one of the writers for Conan really just a nom de plume of Robert Jordan?

Actually, Serious Sam and particularly System Shock are different enough from Doom that their comparison isn't as strong as Road Rage to Crazy Taxi. If you compare Hit & Run to Grand Theft Auto 3, you will see that they share a lot of things in common as well-- but I don't think enough to warrant a lawsuit. In the games industry to win a lawsuit like this you would have to prove that the company literally stole your game design and barely changed it (not redoing it completely into a Simpsons motif, and creating new abilities, things to do, etc that the original game lacked). Otherwise we would never have seen Mortal Kombat after Street Fighter 2 came out...
