so will every game from this point forward be accused of using "source" source?

scenario:
New Game "X" revolutionary "xyz" feature..
Valve:"that was our technology"
no doubt game devs are clamouring for a peek and have already d/l'ed their 48Mb of infamy...
smells like the SCO/Linux/IBM situation...

I was going on the assumption that since Outlook was mentioned that the "source" was on a windows machine and there fore if the hacker had only tftp access or a form of ssh even maybe (ew) telnet it would be difficult to tar/zip/rar it up... what ever is out there is "release group" packaged nested in rar's and zips and how the "source" was originally gotten is still a mystery...
i wonder if Id is refraining from taking a peek?....

even if both ends had an OC192 (a HD couldn't handle it anyway) it would still take a long time to transfer 390+MB of indiviual files (the source) to another pc.. would take a long time... plain FTPing 100 1MB files take a ton longer than a single 100MB, each file requires a command, unless of course the whole shebang was tarred before d/l which i doubt...

something smells fishy, i think there's alot more to the story... if i were to see "the source" being copied i know i'd be yanking cat5's left and right

PR stunt? risky Covering up for another reason, perhaps.. in the end it's great delay tactic......

the only good thing fileplanet's for is to find out the files name and search for it elsewhere..

the Germans didnt issue any StG43 in any large quantities. Even after improving on the design and getting the StG44, they still didnt have enough to issue in any large numbers.

i know it annoys the crap out of me that all these "realistic" WWII mods have the bloody StG. 44 in them... and nary an MG34 'cept of course DoD...

His sneer actually goes back down about half a second before he transforms into a zombie, so I very much doubt that it was an intentional thing to show his dry face. Especially when all that happens in his transformation is a texture change, not a model change.

i wish this was implented on characters sleeves, for example the scientist in the HL2 demo when he bends his arms they don't wrinkle like normal drapery but look more like a scuba suit and not like a lab coat... when the arm bends a bump mapped texture of wrinkles appears ala shaders would be sweet...

the animation in HL2 is amazing, just watch how Barney turns around in the last few frames of the street fight scene... the openness of HL2 is awesome looking at the dried seabed/jeep scene... D3's animation looks stiff when you see the marine takedown the fat zombie... but we'll see...

btw, here's a link to the 500MB vid...

ftp.skynet.be/mirror/games/misc

probably full and don't hammer...

what's interesting is:
-=the scene where the soldier gets spiked by the tenticle and then smacked on the ground=-

the first "trailer" movie that came out (the 12 MB QT vid) the soldier didn't splash the water when smacked down, however on the 500MB vid he does....

" also hope they redo the models to have that more satanic look of the origonal with the goat heads, horns and hoovs on the creatures. The creatures in the E3 are a little too predictable and not as strange looking like the origonal DOOM. "

wont be the same w/o Romero...
