I remember picking up copies of the collector's edition and reading what was included in the box at my local Best Buy - and it did not mention DoD:Source. I was debating whether to buy off Steam or retail - thinking the DVD edition may make the collector's edition worth buying. But the Silver package from Steam at $20 less offered more games than the collector's edition.

There were numerous posts by Gabe Newell around the time HL2 went gold and was to be released on what the various packages included - both via Steam and retail. FFS, there were threads on Blues News about what people were gonna buy or not buy.

If people are to stupid or lazy to see that DOD:Source is not part of the Collector's package, then it is their own fault.

The comment about copying HD-DVDs to your hard drive is also bogus.

I would not be surprised if it were something more like installing a piece of code that locks the DVD to that computer, rather than copying the whole DVD (kinda like StarForce and other copy protection schemes in current games).
