"Really they should blame the TV makers! Huge plasma whilst bumming on the sofa or much smaller monitor whilst sat at a desk."

Try this on for size: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254026 http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11236988

I've had that monitor for over a year and a half... I can play any PC game in comfort (you may want to get a better office chair)... not to mention PS3 and 360 games.

I still agree with that part about the sofa since it's a blast to play games on 50" plasma from ten feet away with friends and family lounging on the couch.

As far as Sony and AP, I'm glad to see that not just EA and DAO are content to screw the PC market.

I'm starting to think along the lines of what Jerykk said in his last post. Though I'm one of those who has plans to wait a month or two before purchasing.

Funny, I missed the fact that the blades cutting through throats (and other body parts) weren't coming out the other side with spurts of blood. Please, tell me it was mistakenly turned off or that was the German version they were playing.

Sweet! I got the e-mail the other day but today's e-mail has all pertinent info. Things to remember...

"Your 14 day re-evaluation period starts when you first log into the game."

"This free re-evaluation offer is only valid until 2009-07-22."

Finally some more game-play footage. I don't want to let go of my PC snubbing anger but... I must say I am slightly impressed. The animations looked quite good. Love the killing moves shown. I assumed these are PC footage... if not and the game looks that good on the PS3 and/or the 360 color me even more impressed.

After seeing the E3 video this year I am far less excited than before. I'm hoping the game-play footage was from one of the consoles since I was planning on buying PC. I know it's premature to judge a game on just a few minutes of actual game-play but that is exactly why they created demos. Anyway I hope I am wrong because I really want this game to be good... better than good, great.

We have to remember that one man's grind-fest is another man's entertainment. And of course this rule extends across all forms of entertainment and/or media.

For example I've read threads on forums with dozens of people touting a novel or an author as one of the best. Then I go out and pick up a copy only to find the author's writing style is boring and the story cliched beyond all reason.

In the end there is rarely a way to explain or fully understand the tastes of somebody different from yourself. I still can't believe there are people out there that do not like the taste of beer of one kind or another... just can't get my mind around that.

Oh, it took me forever to get a non-corrupt copy of RoM downloaded only to find it won't boot on my Vista/Win7 dual boot system.

Will W, you must not have got the e-mail they have had welcome back trails. I've been waiting for a reason to go back but at this point don't really want to invest the time. So I'll wait a bit longer.

Fion, how is the new PvP? I loved the old style just hated there was no negative to the grievers. Did they implement the penalties like they originally had proposed? Do the high level players ganking lower levels become flagged and/or have a bounty put on their heads like they were wanting to do?

Doesn't Paul own Micheal's music catalog? Or did he sell it back to him? I could have sworn he bought it and Micheal wanted the rights back but Paul wouldn't sell it back for any less than he payed for it.

Thanks, for the info LMN8R. Sadly, that sounds like my job. LoL, I work for the Evil Empire. At times I've wondered if this large corporation was the only place with retarded management spreading misinformation and then blaming the employees when things go badly.

Either way the game is still FREE, right? If so, everyone should just take a chill pill.

I was pretty stoke about Alpha Protocol until I saw that extremely console-ish action segment from E3. So unless that was game-play limited to the console only I plan on taking the wait and see (read buyers reviews) before my purchase of the PC version.

What sucks is I had hoped Alpha Protocol would hold me off from buying Dragon Age Origins (PC) until several months after release. Oh, well... it's not like there will be a shortage of good console games to play this Fall/Winter.

I agree with you, Jerykk. Both The Saboteur and Alpha Protocol looked like console games in the E3 demos and hands-on shown. A shame since I was really looking forward to Alpha Protocol.

I was interested in The Saboteur until his uniform instantly vanished and he was the center of attention hidden behind those crates. I can understand if the reason the uniform vanished was a way to let the player know his cover is blown but the way the video played out it left me with the same impression it left you with.

Still a lot of cool games. Thx for the list Blue. Nice way to end the coverage. This year I caught most of it on G4 but got tired of listening to the chatter and mostly scanned thru the recordings on our DVR.

Oh, my wife and I went to see Hang Over... what a funny movie. Highly recommended. One of the funniest I've seen in some time. Crazy shit. Don't take your children though.

edit: I haven't seen any best of lists yet but if that Old Republic trailer doesn't win something it's all rigged. That was one bad-ass trailer. Made me excited to see how well the project will come together.

Thanks for the info. It also appears that switching from one view point to another is a bit faster. Also with the 3rd person perspective will the TrackIR still be needed?

It looks like a nice improvement over ArmA(1) but I'm sure there will still be some quirky stuff that can get irritating at times. Usually the good times outweigh the bad.

Oh, is FADE the blur effect or some kind of DRM? Either way I plan on buying it soon. Not going to import this time or buy from Poland though.

Can anyone already playing ArmA 2 answer a few questions for me, please?

I know they fixed the no-reloading while moving at the same time shit but did they fix the wonky character movements? The latest videos make it appear as if the character movements are a bit faster less laggy. Are they faster/smoother with only lite weapons? Please, tell me all weapons don't play as if they are heavy to maneuver... taking between two and five seconds to get optimal aiming for a more decent shot?

I enjoy the realism angle but at times the heavy weapons feel the character has in ArmA gets on my nerves. I can understand if it's a large weapon but not all weapons should feel like your character is having a hard time using it.

The game-play demo I saw (with one developer playing while one explained what we were watching) left me less than impressive. Not that I don't wish them luck.

Oh, I agree with both of you. I would rather buy another game like Stalker than to purchase another damned cookie cutter FPS on rails with scripted AI and scripted events.

The few bugs I dealt with in the original Stalker (even corrupted saved games) were a small price to pay for the over-all gameplay. I restarted the game three times in the week or two after release and loved it all the while. I'll deal with some bugs if you give me a game that doesn't bore me to tears.

I'm assuming some of you have no idea about the depth of this game? Or the size of the studio? Let's try to keep things in perspective. I'm not saying to let them slide but the size and scope of this game is huge. The editor itself sounds like a dream come true... if it's actually as good as they say. Give them a chance. Nobody is making this kind of game for tactical shooter fans. Nothing else comes even close lately.

A Large NA Studio released a little game called F3 a while back. Well, I still can't play it without it crashing to desktop randomly. The last two tries were a fresh install, even removed my X-Fi because they are blaming it for the crashes, using on-board sound, and the latest patch. Fresh out of the hell that is the beginning of the game it crashes within minutes. It's been like that since day one and they have done nothing to fix it.

So I'm willing to give a little credit where credit is due. BIS at least supports their games with continued patches unlike others who seem to focus mainly on the next way to charge you (DLC)... while leaving the core game bugged.
