I subscribed to HBO just to see Season 3 of Game of Thrones on HBO Go. So I agree there is a huge untapped audience there. The channel goes for what, $16 per month? I think they could get away with charging $5 or maybe $8 a month for access to Go and people would be happy to pay it for a couple months. Or until they get caught up on Boardwalk Empire and Thrones.... maybe a couple other. They could ape Netflix with no problems. Win win as I see it.

Sad but true. My favorite was and still is Rainbow Six. Though quite a few books before and after it were quite good. I stopped reading him when I noticed two names appearing on the covers. Nope, we wanted a sequel to the original Ghost Recon with better/expanded system to issue orders for the troops you are not occupying. Nothing to do with the console versions which followed it. The original Ghost Recon was the shizzit!

I think after the original PC only Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six Raven Shield they pretty much lost their way. I'm willing to bet their sales figures will back that up... now they are stamping Tom Clancy on everything... hence The Division. But you can not deny that game looks bad axe. I just pray they add a first person option to it. Because 3rd person shooters with no 1st person option generally suck!

I didn't realize it was 3rd person only game. For some reason I assumed it was being shown in 3rd person to give us a better look at the surroundings. They look fantastic no doubt. But if we can't switch to 1st person to pop a few caps... my anticipation just fell flat.

Of course that may be the reason it was delayed and I too was under the impression it was a mid-year release. I agree it is far better for them to delay that to release half ass. I just pray Dark Souls 2 is not on the list for another delay.

My installer is messed up too. It claims I need 30g or it's a no go? All this after it already downloaded a 2.5g file... it is stuck in a loop now and I can't do anything other than uninstall it and start over I guess.

Reminds me of the Age of Conan beta years ago where they had you download the entire game every week and their program never removed any old files. After a couple months the folder was over 350 gigabytes.

I'm glad to see X-Com getting some more love too. They had Enemy Unknown for under ten dollars and Enemy Within was only ten. As it stands it is the best TBS at the moment in my opinion. I've got over one hundred hours in the game now and I'm already planning my next replay. Love the new MECs. And I pray they are already planning the next expansion or the sequel.

Tell me again how I can tweek the BF4 netcode? I'd like it to run as if it's a sub 100ms ping not as if the server is halfway around the world. So if it's running at 45ms but playing like it's 250ms what do I need to tweek?

If you haven't bought or downloaded the originals by now I would have to wonder why. Why not at the very least sample two of the greatest ARPGs from two decades back? Even if their old school gameplay and graphics are more than you can bare. You owe it to yourself to try them especially when you've seen they are so cheap or even free at times.

I'll admit I didn't play them until they were already almost ten years old. And I loved Tactics more than the RPGs because of their wonky AI behavior and the frustrations of trying to control them enough to keep them alive. But you had no control. Best you could do would be to block a doorway on occasion. But then they would try to circle around. That was the worst part for me... no control over party members. If it had total control or tactical control with no access to manipulate their inventory the game would still be a great play for me. Even with the old school graphics and turn-based gameplay.

Wish I would have picked them up back then. The problem was the old sales model. They knew then and know now that after a couple months the retail sales all but vanish.... unless the games are set to a clearance or sale pricing. Shop owners didn't carry many old games they wanted fast movers to make a profit. Around here all we had was chain retail stores and finally an Electronics Boutique. I don't remember seeing them on the shelves much back then. Still sad I missed them. They must have been far better when they were just released.

Best thing about all our love for the old school games is their return via KickStarter and indie studios. Can't wait for Wasteland 2!

Off topic a bit but is anyone having issues logging into BattleLog? After reading this post and seeing something about the game being better than ever. So I tried to boot it up and was prompted by a plugin install for BattleLog.

So I installed the plugin. And again, again, and again. I Uninstalled BattleLog and reinstalled the shit plugin again. Still can't log into a game server. Awesome. So from my point of view it is not better than ever. It is the same old shit.

I think Titanfall looks like the best mech game in quite a while though Hawken looked good too. I still can't believe they went free-to-play with it. Downloading it now to give it a try. Though I've read a few people complaining and saying its too much like pay-to-win.

Many many many people have bough this game and cannot get it to sync to steam. We have followed all the advice of the helpful other posters - to no avail - you cannot log into the game. To sync your account with Steam from the Nether website pop up at the top you with see your User Name and Log Out under that? Took me a while to figure it out. Think they must have made a change to the website or something because there is no Account button on that main page. And the account button on the support page doesn't take you to your account.

Either way it looks better than the WarZ/Infestation crap. And probably better than DayZ also. But the real gem will be The Division. That one looks to be the best survival game coming in the near future.

Edit: Damn it all to Hell. I wish I would have read the entire thread and watched twice as many videos from YouTube. I watched several Lets Play type videos but none of them really touched on the problems. Also I hadn't seen WarZ (what is now Infestation) in so long I forgot what the interface looked like. Either way Steam better give me a refund. I think it is total bullshit that they themselves are not policing this type of behavior. This is just a reskinned game. That Worth A Buy? video nails it. Subscribed.

There's another temp fix for when the game crashes to desktop while loading a save. Quickly start a new game and skip through the starting dialogue by repeatedly selecting "Goodbye". Hit escape and Load your original game. This was the only way I could complete the Rail Nomad area.

I bought ArmA II a second time on Steam for this Mod. I had fun with it back then. Since then a lot of great games have come out. Some better... most worse than the DayZ Mod. At this point not sure what you'd call this kind of creep but for me the ship has sailed. I doubt I will buy the SA version for more than ten or fifteen bucks at most. And then only to support their years of work. Because my guess is that after I've been ganked again for a dozen or so times I will be done with the game/mod one last time.

I thought the mechanics worked well in F3 but New Vegas was far better over all. I too wish they had made an option to freeze and go into turnbased mode. Since VATS is there I would assume it's an option. Sadly I never got more than two dozen hours into F3 since it crashed like mad on my system at the time and even after I built a new system it continued to crash far too often for me to ever finish it.

I'm still interested in F4...
