Well, I work for IKEA Customer Services in the UK, and I have to say that this is NOT what any company wants to do. IKEA in the public eye is surely getting worse and worse - as a company we sure as hell are. The service we offer in after sales care is atrocious and even getting a simple phone call back from c/s can take several days if at all. More often goods are being damaged by the shoddy delivery companies who dont care one bit about the customer, and the drivers sometimes take a piss in the alley of someones own house they are that bad.

Im sorry but the only reason any company wishes to model themself after IKEA is purely for £££ only as a tiny company that expanded to be the giant it is currently. The philosphy stands for bugger all.

I dont normally mind the ads on this site (unless it has noises) but just had to mention the godawful one that just came on from T-Mobile.

Im on 1280x1024 res and a t-mobile floating flash ad came on that took over the entire screen covering the top 4 posts and it was moving all over the place. It took me about 20 seconds to find the damn close button (which was a miniscule x in the middle of the advert)

Dunno if you have a rule on ads on here or not Blue, but that was really extreme..

What utter tripe.

Tiscali is a godawful joke of an ISP and its only through pure laziness that I cant be arsed moving to another ISP. After 5pm on that crap providor you can look forward to No bit torrent downloads, no newsgroup downloads (unless you count 0.2k/s a download speed which I dont!) and dodgy online gaming access (some games are fine such as warcraft, others according to people on their forum do not work at all such as Eve, COD4 and so forth).

Ive had a support "ticket" on their support forum now since last october. Were now in february and *NOTHING* has actually changed in that time frame. That must surely be illegal..

Avoid Tiscali like a shitty stick being waved about if your thinking of getting a new ISP in the UK.

I dont think making it crap for clans is a bad thing myself. I absolutely hate clan cocks who stick some letters on the end/beginning of their name on public servers and think that they can order people about.

Many times on pub servers I see people proper going off on one because somebody on their team isnt doing exactly as they want. They even use voice on it to shout in their mic at people they dont even know because someone is an engie and isnt sat camping a section and instead is playing the game for fun doing whatever they like.

Having a clan tag does not make you god or in charge of the server - it merely shows your a sheep who likes to stick out and bark orders rather than have fun.

If they have banned you for very little and are refusing you to play the games you bought, then take them to a small claims court and quit bitching on a website unrelated to valve. Its like me camping outside of my local pub and moaning at all people coming in and out that the postman kicked your dog or something. Get a life.

From the gameplay vid I watched a couple of weeks back it showed something resembling a dog in a harness that you use as a close-up weapon and it mauls your victim. Kinda like a living chainsaw.

Bloody hell, a thread about Postal that isnt just people whining and moaning about how crap the game is and people who play it are sick and not true gamers and blah blah blah.

I cant wait to get my hands on this sequel. P2 was great and though there wasnt much of a game in it, the sandbox-ness of it made it a laugh and a giggle.

Ho ho Mr. Cheeky chappy. Like anyone is that bothered about Halo 2 on PC. Its gonna suck when it comes out and nobody will care at all. Compared to PC FPS games its dead in the water and several years too late.

Another way of thinking of this would be that we’re delivering smaller expansions over time rather than having players wait a year or more before they finally get something new
So charging $10 (or thereabouts) a month over 12 months to reach the content a $30 expansion would have a year is better for the gamer? Might mean we get bits and pieces quicker but at 4x the cost overall !

Im not damning a monthly cost for paying, I've been forking out for warcraft for several months and I was a subscriber to City Of Heroes for a bit too. On games that are huge with lots and lots to do with friends I dont mind forking out cash.

People slate WoW for charging but the size of the game overall is monstrous. Would take you a day of travelling to walk through every zone in the game start to finish and thats just through the main roads itself with no fights. To keep that up to date and add new content and have servers for the millions of players is what the subscription is for.

On this game though I somehow doubt it will be as big as warcraft. I havent seen it so this is an assumption but an FPS in the size of WoW seems unlikely right now.

My money stays in the bank for bills and WoW right now. This game though sounded good and looked good many months ago is now looking poorer and poorer no matter how much the devs tart it up justifying a subscription for the "elite" in us

Blue, just a heads up to let you know that when I came on the site this morning the small square banner at the top right was for Sky Sports which immediately played a loud musical intro with voiceover without me doing anything. There is a speaker icon on there used in most ads to disable sound but it did nothing, it still carried on playing. Damn well made me jump it did when I first opened the page lol

I'll just pitch in too to say im loving the game as well. I dont have the foggiest idea what those stats and numbers are about below but Im a level 34 lock which I've been using for about 50 days now and I love the game to bits. Even my wife plays it and currently has a level 9 dranei shaman and a 25 human warlock.

You will indeed love Oblivion.

When I had to come offline due to no internet access when I moved house so had to give up WoW, I got oblivion to pass the time. Right now Ive covered about 62 hours of gameplay (and thats whats recorded - dying and reloading doesnt factor into this amount) and only managed to complete around 51% of the game. Its huge I tells yer. It starts out a bit slow in the training section but after that its amazing!

That's not teamwork that's exploiting. Just like bunny hopping and dolphin diving

I dont play BF2 anymore. Bought it but found it shite compared to BF1942 and too buggy/laggy.

But that comment above made me laugh. Basically then, if I was infantry in real life when running over a hill and spotting an enemy ahead and I dove forward to a prone position, this would be an exploit and isnt possible? Jumping about isnt possible either? Sure it makes you look a twat but its not exactly something you cant do in real life.

I cant see HDDVD and Bluray taking off well at all. I would imagine lots of people have a DVD player and probably a decent collection of DVDs by now, so why would they bother spending a ton of cash on a new player and new discs that wont look that much better if at all because they dont have a grand to spare buying a HD tv.

I sure as hell wont be adopting this new tech as my DVD collection is quite large and I love all my TV Show collections in box sets, and I have a nice WS tele that is fine for me. Bluray and/or HD-DVD will take quite a long time to become mainstream if it even does at all...

This is a random guess but I think the reason why other emulators can do things for years that MAME hasnt been able to is down to the core architect of MAME itself. Its a very organised and neat source package that contains relatively few hacks (well, as few as they can get away with) whereas ones like zinc may use nothing but hacks to get the games fully playable.

MAME also uses shared libraries so say for instance a routine used in 50% of its emulated games needs changing to make a handfull of other games work such as the ZN games, then this probably wont get done until someone can be arsed to sit down and do it and then test all other games the routine is used on to see if they broke.

This kinda happened with System16 driver in MAME if i recall... been out of emulation land for quite some time now so my mind is hazy..
