Another way of thinking of this would be that we’re delivering smaller expansions over time rather than having players wait a year or more before they finally get something new
So charging $10 (or thereabouts) a month over 12 months to reach the content a $30 expansion would have a year is better for the gamer? Might mean we get bits and pieces quicker but at 4x the cost overall !
Im not damning a monthly cost for paying, I've been forking out for warcraft for several months and I was a subscriber to City Of Heroes for a bit too. On games that are huge with lots and lots to do with friends I dont mind forking out cash.
People slate WoW for charging but the size of the game overall is monstrous. Would take you a day of travelling to walk through every zone in the game start to finish and thats just through the main roads itself with no fights. To keep that up to date and add new content and have servers for the millions of players is what the subscription is for.
On this game though I somehow doubt it will be as big as warcraft. I havent seen it so this is an assumption but an FPS in the size of WoW seems unlikely right now.
My money stays in the bank for bills and WoW right now. This game though sounded good and looked good many months ago is now looking poorer and poorer no matter how much the devs tart it up justifying a subscription for the "elite" in usThis comment was edited on May 10, 12:01.
