Old cheesy b-movies are superb entertainment to watch. Classics like Them! and The Thing (original, not john carpenters "remake") are so funny to watch. The hokey special fx and dodgy acting make it all worthwhile.

Ive read somewhere from a review by an owner that it isnt anywhere near as good as its hyped up to be. Sure you can port/write emulators for it like snes and megadrive etc.. but you would be lucky to get 1/4 speed nevermind playable speed.

DivX playback on it is ropey too - 15fps on super low bitrate and resolution so its pretty much pointless unless you want to watch poor quality realmedia type videos.

If you call cutting someone to pieces with a chainsaw tame
This is never shown on camera, it is merely emphasised, much like the ear cutting scene in reservoir dogs. The actual cutting up occurs off screen. It also happens twice and one is a little more up-close and personal, but again it happens a little bit off camera, so theres no actual gory fx of someones guts being torn out by a chainsaw.

*SPOILERS*

The only true violence in TCM that is seen on camera is a bloke getting hit over the head with a hammer, then once more to finish the job as hes still alive having a fit on the floor. The other scene yet again involves a hammer which is gently being hit against someone by a feeble old man who cant quite do the job well.

Leatherface also manages to cut into his leg with his own chainsaw because he falls over and it lands on him.

The hitchiker in the game (Leatherface's brother) gets himself run over by a truck at the end and is shown on film, although I doubt you could get it looking more dummy like even if you painted it black and yellow.

You see a girl being put on a meat hook but thats from in front of her so you dont see a thing there either.

So thats your lot really. Its not very gory, but the story is superb and its one of my favourite films of all time (hence my name

Postal2 will have more gameplay than Unreal2
That wouldnt take much beating. Unreal 2 stank like a 4 week old rotting kipper.

Nor me. I can see it having very shallow gameplay but its the shere scope of the stuff you can do that I cant wait to try because im a sick little monkey.

Does it play a little like Freelancer?

I love that game in multiplayer but not having a centralised location that saves your status was a major downside.

Me and a friend have been through 3 servers now each time just getting a decent ship and the damn server goes offline and never returns so we keep having to start from scratch.

I cant blame Dixons at all for this move. The blame lies purely with Nintendo who have done naff all release wise for the GC over the past few months.

There are several titles which came out in america months and months ago which still arent out here. Monkey Ball 2 comes to mind (which is released this friday).

Over christmas there wasnt a single GC game worth buying, so its no wonder sales have been so bad - you cant sell the same games over and over, so what can you expect people to do when they have all the good titles. I really despise Nintendo for the ill treatment it has given the GC in Europe. Ive been tempted to sell mine and all the games numerous times before now, but I held on waiting for Monkey Ball 2.

Didnt I read something once about Nintendo focusing on shorter games and more of them, as opposed to longer games released in trickles? Well all weve had so far is short games every 4 months. Pathetic.

What still has me confused is why iD even got together with Even Balance. PunkBuster has to be one of the worst Anti-Cheats I've ever used

I hear ya. Ever since PB was introduced in RTCW all that time ago, everytime I go on a server after about 1 minute of playing the HD thrashes its nuts off in bursts which makes the game stutter a lot. It never does it on PB disabled servers, and it never did it before PB was introduced. I also got SOF2 the other day and that too does the exact same thing on PB enabled servers.

Other Quake 3 engine games (medal of honor etc..) dont do this.

Ive contacted the PB team twice to try and resolve this "issue" but they denied any knowledge of it - I originally thought it was PB searching my HDs for cheats but they told me they dont do that. Well if it dont then why in the hell does it access the HD in bursts for upwards of a minute or 2 making the game near impossible to play.

Pisses me off because I cant actually do anything other than camp somewhere and hope nobody comes and kills me when it happens - the game drops to less than 5fps (even though when the HD isnt thrashing it runs at 85fps capped to coincide with my refresh rate)

Punk Buster? pah! who needs it.

Wanting a new DS9 game
Here here !

Wouldnt mind a new DS9 series too - Voyager and Enterprise are dullsville. Elite Force 1 was quite good but damned short, and frankly being set in the voyager world spoiled it. Voyager has nothing going for it.

I want an all out war with dominion scum with characters I give a damn about, not wooden cutouts like Tom fekkin Paris. And the less said about Neelix the better.

"Strategy" and "Deathmatch" dont belong in the same sentence unless you add the words "There is no" and "in"

The european release wasnt put back. The European EA site actually had a link to the "american" patch as if it was the european one.

A lot of Euro servers (except EAUK ones) are running 1.3 - the EAUK Road To Rome servers are on 1.3 though, so if you bought the expansion your forced into playing the same 6 maps on the EA servers or the original BF1942 maps running 1.2 so no R2R for you.

Its pathetic - you have to use 3rd party servers which more often than not have a silly setup that makes matches last 2 minutes each before map changes, or have a very very low player count (12 pl max for instance)

You misunderstood me kyleb. I agree it is the games fault but I was saying it has issues with ATI cards. Wasnt blaming ATI at all, in fact there was only one issue with ATI that I recall that was ATI's fault and that was the fogging being unplayably thick in the game when the Catalyst drivers first came out, and was duly fixed by a patch shortly after.

Thats why I was hoping they code it better in Vice City and actually test it on cards different to nvidiots.

Its an ATI issue.

Rockstar never tested the game on cards other than nvidia and as such they didnt optimise it well enough (or so Ive read anyway)

Thats why someone on a 700mhz PIII with a TNT2 can run the game better than a 2ghz P4 with an ATI card sometimes.

Lets hope they code this one better.

GTA3 was an awesome game but the coding on PC was a bit poor. It ran like crap when it first came out and I had a Radeon 8500 with 2.1ghz P4 even in low resolutions.
Last night I reinstalled it now I got a 9700 Pro and it still ran like crap. Im talking less than 10fps at times.

Thats in 1024x768 with no FSAA or Anistropic settings enabled.
