I'd like to see B (naturally) with a sub-game mode based around F just for the hell of it

Shame about the long wait, but looking forward to this one despite not being too impressed with the MP demo. Although I'll be buying this one for the SP game anyway!

Hey Horizon, BF is pretty cool played over the lan in work. Install the Merciless mod and ramp up the AI / tickets and its just the fix you need after a long day, although most of our lan games quickly turn into grudge matches between the artists and programmers ... which is nice ...

Only problem with lan games (with limited numbers of human players) is that without fail we kick the bots ass.

Best all round option is to play on a full server with lots of human opponents, however the public severs are pretty crap for 'teamplay' so we try and arrange to play against other clans or other teams we know who have access to lans at work

Edit: spelling

at a lan party you could set the game up as Co-op with 64 players and just get the human players to join allies (for instance)

there's 10 of us in the office here and we regularly set up a co-op lan game with 64 players and spread out the human contingent on both sides

WTF - £39.99 that's hopefully a typo. Most PC games ship in the UK for £24.99-£30. Quite liked the demo, it had potential, but won't buy it if that's how much the bugger costs!

Or maybe its just marketing suits trying to justify their salaries

Surely not!

Anyway, shots look good. Release the demo already!

I mean, that's the entire point of having the mmo part of the game, otherwise it really is just a game of tribes on a bigger server

Most of the comparisons to Tribes2 are totally 'just', although its not just a big game of Tribes as the 'battle' is persistant and ongoing. Its more like playing UT CTF forever

Seriously though, the other reason though for having the MMO part is to develop your character in the context of the wider world and the battles that you take part in or rather the part you play dictates which skills and enhancements are available to you.

I played the beta for quite a while, but still a little undecided if I'm going pay-to-play. I think I'd personally like to see more additions to the gameworld (and these new ones do look good) before I commit

I've picked it up, I quite liked the demo and thought it'd be worth a punt Runs nice at high resolutions on my system and so far has been stable. Game-wise it kinda reminded me of Commandos with a smidgen of Sudden Strike thrown in, but easier to get into (dare I say mainstream!).

My only gripe is getting used to the command system, once you get used to it its actually ok, but after playing lots of Generals the controls for ordering feel 'inverted'

I don't regret buying it either way

@Halo:

I've got a similar problem, I think the way around it is to get the textures to re-cache (y'know the way they do on first run of GTA)

For GTA3 I changed gfx cards halfway through playing it (GF2 -> GF3) and I resolved it by actually uninstalling the drivers, setting the GF3 as a standard video adapter, reboot, then installed the Detonator drivers again. (check out the GTA3 forums for more info - quite a few ppl had this problem)

Edit: buh

Going to be interesting to see how they handle bullet time and all the other cool 'Matrix' fx in a multiplayer environment

The movie looked great but I'll wait till the last minute before upgrading

Yeah, too right. Be interesting to see what iD recommend as the min, rec and optimal specs for the game
