Imagine if you could mod Supreme Commander to simulate a 3D version of this. That would rock, rock on!

no, $199.

Doesn't make it anyless better since it's still 200 bucks just to get some good physics.

I'm REALLY fucking surprised no one is attempting to MOD X-Com on the Silent Storm engine... unless anyone knows of ones that are bearing some fruit?

Good to see they're getting some more attention from the gaming community. Wonder how it runs on the fastest system... NOW APPLE STOP BEING MONOPOLISTS ON YOUR HARDWARE AND LET THIRDPARTY MANUFACTURE!

Combat. Can no one come up with anything else? Is fighting the only thing to do in space? Jeez, developers, get yer heads outta yer asses and come up with something new. One can only stomach so many "whoopee, real time 3D space flight combat!!" games. God forbid you come up with something intriguing, fascinating, something to tantalize the mind, in the realm of space. Go watch 2001 and 2010."

You mean like solving a space mystery and running around a space station/ship trying to figure out what went wrong? See: Double Helix, System Shock and that Tia Carrere game from 1992/1993 that featured FMV. "

It could be any next gen engine. What he means by "lights" isn't in the amount of light aspect only in Doom3 but by the amount that is restricted by the engine in any set environment. See: Multiple lights in one room vs One light allowed per room.

This isn't IG3 and what they had to develop for IG3 got scrapped. CDV wanted the developers to tie in the Imperium Galactica IP and they wouldn't take no for an answer. They didn't like what they saw, so they cancelled it. Got picked up by HD Interactive and they went back tot he original vision for the game: Tactical Combat via Mech Commander like rules.

It's nothing like the previous Imperium Galactica games. Infact if you read the latest Q&A, implementing exploration and implementing the IG3 IP, didn't make it work (or they didn't make it work very well). When the project was ordered to be IG3 by CDV, the developers told them it wouldn't work outright. Don't believe me, read the interview: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=56656

Once you figure out the Function keys (you can check them on the bottom), it becomes pretty easy. It's not nearly as userfriendly as the demo 2 years ago was(which it wasn't), but it's still pretty rad. The manual controls will really freak out newer players, so I wouldn't recommend any manual control

I really hope so, Transport Tycoon was by far my most favorite of the SIM-like games. This looks exactly like a sequel to that great game

• Engine animation which adds texture to scenes and events, and builds atmosphere

I'd hope to god it had this otherwise it'd be a 1990 game.
