Multiplayer Battletech: 3025

Great game, needed more command level features like the old EGA MPBT on GEnie.

nin: The Battlemaster was removed because it was a potential lawsuit mech. Do a search for Battletech Lost mechs on google.com or something, should bring up your answers.

Wow... for once I am nearly speechless. I was able to get a copy from a friend when it came out (tried the public beta and it sucked total ass). This was going to be my last attempt at seeing if it was any good with it being 2.0 and all.... but boy... Counter-Strike move over, this shit is probably going to suck my life away!

Wow you have shown me how moronic you are by replying to #2 with gibberish that isn't even correct.

1: They did not rip off or "steal" any of the art. They had licensed them (at least the Macross ones). The American producers wished to contest it (note not the Japanese).

According to FASATom@aol.com, here's the answer:

Addressing the statement that FASA had at sometime in the past lost a lawsuit regarding mecha design, this is also not true. Back in the early days, 1984-85, before Robotech was packaged by Harmony Gold we obtained the rights to the images used in our original BattleDroids (later BattleTech) boxed game. Harmony Gold lawyers contacted us regarding our rights to those images (specifically in their case the Macross images) and we provided for them our proof of license. No lawsuit was ever filed on that matter, or any between FASA and Harmony Gold. "

The only reason why they phased out the images from their products was because they didn't wish to be further contested as Court = $$$ expendatures. That being said, Harmony Gold isn't even the holder of the license anymore.

2: The animes: Macross, Crusher Joe, Dougram.

Dropped Crusher Joe and Dougram so they won't have to use up more $$$ in defending against lawsuits.

http://www.angelfire.com/scifi/weirdozone/wargames/battletech/mystery.html is one good resource on it too.
