ugh.. you've got to be kidding me.. the battlefield series has absolutely nothing to do with mil combat -- it's arcade-y at best..I agree with u here. They are very gamey and if u want a great military combat experience do what some ppl already suggested, get Operation Flashpoint.
any sniper worth a damn can judge distance to target simply by the size of the target when zoomed.. and appropriately adjust to the proper mil dot just by guess-timating..But, snipers always have a buddy with a binocular who gives them the range and such. Since that would be a bit of a hassle in game, the sniper now has to do that duty himself. This doesnt hamper him that much since switching between binoculars and gun is soooo easy.
Sure after a while a sniper will get good at shooting at long range targets just by "guessing" but that will take a while.
