We're so far away from colonizing Mars. Let's invent an alternative to rocket technology first. Then we can start thinking about colonization.

VASIMR

Nuclear Pulse Propulsion

Ion Thrusters

Solar Sails

We've got lots of ideas (and some small-scale implementations). We need somewhere to go before anyone's going to want to dump big money into them.

None of which will get us off the planet. We need something that will get us off-planet for $100 a KG, not $10000, or whatever it costs now. Then we can build a ship that will take us safely to Mars using one of those optional propulsion systems.

There HAS to be something in some secret facility somewhere......say, I dunno, in the Nevada desert?

BFBC2 had some of the best battles I have ever been a part of. C4 on quads, I mean COME ON! Taking down whole buildings with a squad inside and just watch your score count up. Those infantry maps with buildings blowing up, using explosives to gain entry to a room knowing the other team was waiting in there......awesome. Only newbs use doors!

But BF2 was a hell of a lot of fun playing competitively.

Been playing a lot of Day of Infamy. Is hella fun in Co-op against bots.

I don't know if this has been mentioned here but Mafia 2 is 80% off. I know a few people have been waiting for a deep discount.

Was playing it again after playing it on 360 at release. The game is so empty....

Got the 1070 SC in the gaming rig. Pretty happy with the results. First thing I noticed is the thing is HEAVY! Had to update the bios on the mobo to get the card to work. Very happy with it.

Next purchases are 144hz monitor and an i7 down the road.

Pro Tip: WD40 is not a lubricant. It's a cleaning solvent and water displacement sealant.
Which is why he has to redo it once a year

It isn't required that I do. I just do. I had a crappy lock on the garage that our keys would get stuck in, so that is when I first used it. Now I just do it because....I dunno. It's the old man in me. I grew up on the farm and we doused crap in WD40.

I'm still bitter about No Man's Sky. Can't believe Sean Murray got away with highway robbery. I'm sure he's sitting in his castle feasting on his customer's tears and yucking it up with his team. Kind of like this guy.

I don't think so. We've not heard from him since launch basically. I think he truly believed that everyone would be over the moon about his game, and the massive backlash has devastated him. Here's to hoping they redouble their efforts and make the game more interesting.

I think they cashed in and closed shop. No updates for a while now.

WD40 didn't' work? I hit our locks every year with it. I actually take our locks apart often to clean them as well. But we have Medeco locks on our house, commercial grade.

The game isn't even listen on the stats page on Steam.

http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

Also the 68,000+ reviews are "mostly negative". Again watching the video....looks nothing like the game.

The unreleased Half-Life multiplayer mod that you can play now. They don't make unreleased like they used to…

Wow. IF you are a fan of Threewave CTF that video in the article is a great watch and listen. Has a cool history of the project and dude in the middle of it.

Gee law enforcement actually following the law, that would be a first.

Actually its more interesting than that. This case and others similar to it are going to set a very strange precedence.

This is a worst case scenario, so it will be interesting to see how judges handle exploiting children with digital privacy......wow. Going to be tough.

This is the definition of the fruit of the poisonous tree....

The technology changes but the fundamentals of the law don't. Law enforcement, the FBI in particular has a really bad and consistent habit of outright breaking the law for its own ends, yet nothing ever happens. No one is held accountable, jailed, much less fired, and they just keep right on doing the same shit. On top of which the story neglects to mention they actually let the server run 2 weeks as a honeypot, so they were actually distributing child porn.

It is actually right in the article....they run investigations like that all of the time. Also sell drugs, etc. The courts require it unfortunately to prove a crime. They don't consider selling crack a crime the first time, you have to prove multiple instances over time.....don't blame the front line, blame the courts.

The Deflategate Scientists Unlock Their Lab.

One retired QB went to the media and said something to the effect of "I have footballs from games from years ago and they still are the correct pressure".

I call bullshit. I have a signed GAMEBALL from 2 years ago and it is squishy as hell. It hasn't moved off of the shelf.

/and like many others, if they won by a couple points, this would matter. But they were beating people by 2-4 TDs......it didn't matter.

Anyways, back on track here...

Did anyone else notice that they changed the conquest mode back to kills taking a ticket from the enemy team?

Also they're gimping the armor, and giving support a way to deal with heavy armor.

Sooo basically all the interesting design decisions that I actually enjoyed they're removing.

Just once I'd like to see them actually stick to their guns and release the game THEY designed, not the game designed by the most vocal 1% of users...

I LIKED that vehicles were an actual threat, and that you had to work together as a team to take them down. It was REFRESHING to not have another battlefield where the vehicles weren't just "crawling coffins" or "flying coffins" as my team used to call them...

And The ticket thing, I liked the new system, it made people PTFO, which is getting worse and worse with every wave of players new to the franchise. Oh well, back to everyone running around like chickens with their heads cut off I guess...

But it is a pub game, and just like their Star Wars skin game, no one takes down the walkers - so Rebels always lose. Same way with this BETA. You would get in a tank and go 50-1. That isn't a balanced game.
