BS. GoogleTalk would've been my choice; the voice support and minimalist interface alone are excellent.

I've noticed very few changes in the vaunted firefox 1.5 update that seem to be worth much. I'm all for it getting press and being successful, but the goobers running the show sure seem ineffectual or snooty (something I've bumped into before with open source people).

I've reported two defects into the queue and got replies saying "nope, not fixing it" - updates reinstalling default search plug-ins that I specifically removed, and asking for an installer option to choose which search bar items get installed. In the case of the latter, they said something to the effect of "it would be confusing to mainstream users if they had an additional 'custom' install option that provided this."

And yet, I'll still use it and have considered trying Thunderbird.

DeaderMeat is pretty correct, as far as I recall, and I also haven't read them for 15-20 years. Been meaning to give them another try though (they are quite brief books, btw). However I did read a biography of Tolkien since then, who was a colleague of CS Lewis, they used to get into discussions on mythology and so on. Some neat stuff about those two.

When read chronologically according to the timeline of the tales (not in order of publication), it starts with creation/genesis with "The magician's nephew" and carries forward through to revelations. Lewis was quite christian, but the books stand fairly well for themselves, indeed when reading them as a child I didn't connect the two myths. There are a lot of parallels between Christ and Aslan for sure; he's killed, rises again, etc.

Things are sufficiently obfuscated that they stand alone ok. IIRC, magic is mostly used by evil folks, but then we're talking a fantasyland with warrior mice (reepicheep?) and so on. I can't even recall some of the middle books besides their names (voyage of the dawn treader, the silver chair) so can't really connect them to the conventional christian tales.

Now being in a window and modelling underthings is a little different, but not much of a stretch, especially today.

There's a store here (Lily's Lingerie) that has been doing that for years at least twice a year, leading up to Feb 14th, of course. Often a bit of a crowd walking by at lunchtimes, you know, it's proably just on their route back to work, and they're just stopping for a second to see what the fuss is, and maybe to see what changed since the five mins ago... or so I've heard.

We can have that kind of smut around here, but they won't allow Sunday Shopping.

The principle is that the fatty duck bastes the chicken (inside the duck) and the turkey (outside it). Haven't tried it, but I might do - I enjoy a bit of butchering

Friends of mine won one in a radio contest a couple years back (there is a butcher in our city who sells 'em ready to cook for a hundred bucks or so). Took them something like 14 hours to cook for athe guests, and it still wasn't so great, apparently. Duck is such a fatty/greasy bird, I suspect there's a lot of tricks to getting this crazy combo just right.

I have a 9800 Pro, and have had zero issues with the game.....at least, technical related issues. Issues with eating, sleep, etc are a whole other story.

Actually it is getting old listening to the same people bitch and whine about the same thing regardless of thread topic. Pizt's usually "Riley vs. the World and Universe" will usually dominate a subject that really is more suited for news items that are pure Steam, not Spector's game.
