I'm enjoying Civ4 and so far it has provided some good replayability. But again, a patch is overdue.

I don't know whether they have just the one patch out or not, but I noticed a big diff after installing it, particularly in the zoom and zipping around the map.

Good stuff, I likez it. Wish GalCivII had PBEM multi though.

It'll get dealt with eventually; it's on the backburner is all. I just detest that groups routinely blame lack of growth or reductions on legal downloading, rather than bad product.

And yet the buzz this am on the various sites is that he was a bad host, near Chris Rock/Letterman levels. I suspect most folks watching the tv had a hoot, but because the audience was cold to the skewering, the muted reception reflected poorly on the guy.

I really dislike the management at Stardock and Frogboy comes across as a real asshole.

I only really read the few threads, but in the main one about multi that frog guy has some gems - I must have missed all these good turn-based multiplayer games that have huge followings., the less snarky That's understandable that a multiplayer group would be disappointed. No game can be all things to all people. and the ever popular Multiplayer advocates are vocal but few in number. We will certainly have a sign up sheet for a multiplayer expansion. It'll be $19.95. I bet we can't get even 5,000 people to sign up. And he had a lot of folks chiming in with support.

Blues is a good board because we don't slag someone into leaving just because they're different.

well, TBS multiplayer works with CivIV (and III), and I play it with family (PBEM) in another time zone. I think with a PBEM (not lan, not intertron) approach, there'd only need to be modest changes to support it. <shrug> Oh well. I'm only one sale, and if the majority doesn't want it, they must be right.

...not even PBEM. and it almost seems from the msgboards that the developers are vehemently opposed to wasting time on multi, saying most players don't want it.

Both teams played poorly; the seabags just played worse - did they think they'd win with 10 points? yeesh. Refs didn't grease up the balls or coat the receivers gloves with teflon between the "ok start" first quarter and the rest of the game. Refs didn't forget how to manage the clock after a two minute warning.

It's not so much that Steelers won, it's that the Seabags managed to lose - what was it, if alexander rushes for over 100 yards they almost always win? Only got 95 on sunday... maybe holmgren thought he was in line for a record or something and decided not to give him the ball.

On the Roethlisburger goal line TD, it really could've gone either way; I don't think it would've been overturned no matter which way the goal line judge had called it; it was THAT close. But it was also only 3rd and 1 with the score 3-0 for the 'hawks at that point - I honestly think Pitt would've gone for it on 4th and micrometers, given how sloppy they had played to that point. I mean, if you throw the ball on the ground every time you touch it, you'd have a higher passer rating that Ben Hamburgler ended up with.

And the two missed indoor field goals by seattle didn't help them either...

Simply put, it was not a good game all around.

I didn't read into that they were working on an FPS for a console, unlike other folks; maybe I missed something. Didn't see a genre singled out. <shrug>

In any case, change can be good; force 'em to think out side the PC box... and into another, ummm.... box.
