[Hooray for tangents!]
Read that as "Hooray for Termagants" at first. For a change of pace from the spacehulk idea, a campaign-expansion could be made with a genestealer cult that graduallly revealed the tyranid menace. Genestealers were just as badass before they became all hive-y.

And then the good race can be the Squats. Hearthguard, Guild Engineers, Landtrains and Trikes for everyone!

I enjoy the comic but some of the ranting on their front page is strange from time to time.
Sometimes they are in left field, sometimes they are bang on, sometimes they get it half right. I could hope for nothing less (nothing more?) from opinion columnists or the talking heads on TV. At least taking a stance, being semi-malleable (and have the guts to admit it when you're wrong), that's good stuff.

Plus Child's Play is a nice thing too; it's kinda telling the ESA or IGN or others never mobilized for charities before.

At the very least, splatter the blue truck with mud and/or tree fragments and put a gunrack on the back of the (by now surely rusted) BlueJet.

Would be neat to watch a game of Battlefield 2 from some kind of omniscient perspective, as in a camera floating around the map, zooming in as things got interesting. I have no idea how they could really implement that though.
Honest question - Can you do that in Source engine games? Don't they have some kind of observer/sourcecast or whatever mode? Not that I want to watch endless CS matches.

They should make a reality show out of the Omegathon from PAX.

Are you new here? This is bluesnews, don't forget.
Yeah, and you started the mud spattering by randomly calling a semi-respected five year member (with over 4k posts) a kiddie.

BTW: I hope you have all enjoyed discussing games, because things are going to get ugly now. This is where the escalation begins and both sides begin to crap in each other's favorite gaming threads for revenge. I suppose that is step (4).
What happened to that user-blocking greasemonkey thread for blues? was that Camaro's? anyone got the link?

Fine by me. Never had an issue with SecuROM (or the protection-that-shall-not-be-named, but don't tell anyone).

Only through education can the vicious cycle be broken. A thread is a terrible thing to waste.
Very nice post. Did you have to whiteboard it out - it was remarkably coherent for one mentioning the-protection-that-shall-not-be-named, good work. I am not being facetious

Adblock is swell, but it doesn't mean FF the browser is faster. A custom hosts file could be just as effective. FF is bad with that stupid flash plug in. It's bad sometimes when it's looking for a site that doesn't exist - mistakes typed in the address bar make it gag sometimes. I've also (even now in 1.5) had crashes when switching tabs, particularly if one is loading and I switch away and open others.

And again, I still support & use FF - but I do have to switch rendering engines periodically for some sites to function correctly (usually interactive/forms related ones). Can just as easily be coding on their end and not the browser - end result is I don't care whose problem it is, just that it's a problem.

Is opera faster than IE - because I don't find FF faster; plus FF is a memory hog (though in fairness, IE probably makes shall we say extensive use of already loaded DLLs). Still using FF, but it can be hoggish and hangs occasionally.

Mostly because it took so long to transfer the turn data and like playing Civ 4 online, it sounds great on paper but when you realize how long a game can take, it gets less appealing.
PBEM! PBEM! It probably wouldn't work with the battle stuff in HoMM, but I really enjoy the Play-By-Email aspect of Civs III & IV. Great for family in other time zones.

If there was save & resume, that'd be good too - just set up some voice chat (even googletalk) and trash talk the night away. I did play a multi couple games of HoMM III, but yeah, it was a bit sluggish. LAN'd be fine if you ran through a dvd or few in the background.
