Great analogy, War. Using our power to impose copyright law on other nations is exactly like whiping out slavery. Hell, the war on piracy is probably more important than WW 2 in terms of moral significance.

Oh, wait. No.. none of that is true.

that is bizarre. So is shaving.

Nothing bizarre about cutting off the itchy hair that grows on my face and makes me look like (even more of) an idiot.

I also had some issues with framerate, but my system isn't nearly as good as your's, Ant. That said, for what was on screen there was no reason for it to be that slow.

Because of above mentioned framerate issues I didn't play much at all.. but what I saw didn't impress me. Looked a lot like Dungeon Siege.

Blue grass covers? Check out this (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006BGXQ8/102-9344879-8799369?v=glance&n=5174), it's blue grass covers of Modest Mouse songs, and it's fuckin awesome.

And while we're on the topic of country(ish) music: listen to John Prine (his self titled album is a good place to start).

Edit: This site (http://www.cmhrecords.com/web/page.asp?pgs=product&id=613) has some samples of the modest mouse covers.

Edit 2: The clips are mislabeled, but you get the idea.

I was raised and still live in the BIG city so I havn't seen many animals. Heck i've never seena real life horse.

That's terrible... How can you be satisfied with your life when you see so little of the actual, natural world?

I still remember seeing eagles, foxes, deer, etc canoeing rivers as a youth... Memorable times which definitely shaped my respect for the world outside "the big city."

That game definately has the best melee combat to date.

Close, but Die by the Sword set that bar pretty high years ago... and noone else has even come close.

I'd put BoD above Rune, but still far below DbtS. Enjoyable game, though.

...why the damn game is out on P2P right now, but we aren't even getting a demo until Monday. That's weak.

More like par for the course. We're lucky the demo's coming out in the next week, most "triple A" (publisher's words, not mine) titles don't give us a demo until months after release

I guess years and years of women throwing their underwear at him...

All the panties in the world couldn't soke up the tears he crys everytime he's alone. Tom Jones is the most tragic character in all of Vegas, I'm sure of it.

Subject says it all, I just run my computer off of the electo-chemical reaction occurring somewhere in the pile of old 7-11 coffee cups, remnants of various snack foods, and the skeleton of a hydroponics kit at my feet (I tried to set this up a few months ago and long story short it was a failed experiment, but I'm off the grid now, so no complaints).

Carmack should have just broken the little medialing with his mind. Snapped his consciousness in two right there on TV. You know he can do that crap, if only he didn't also have a zen like patience.... sigh...

I agree, asrof, the MMORPG market is certainly a confusing one. So much of what people pay for seems so unappealing to me.

That said, DDO needed solo play from the beginning. The greatest part of many D&D classes is their ability to solo if played intelligently and that aspect of the game was totally missing. I remember creating my soloing thief hybrids in BG 2 and enjoying the challenge immensly. Yes, there were parts of the game I didn't dare take on, but it was beatable and for once I felt I'd accomplished something when I finally defeated Irenicus.

The whole game is just too dumbed down, though. Too many classes have normally useful abilities that are totally useless in Turbines manifestation of the rules and as such soloing won't be nearly as interesting (IMHO). Maybe it was the lag, but the game just seemed like advanced combat tactics (usable in games like BG 2) were totally ineffective in DDO....
