That game looks so good. I can't wait for that and the HD remakes of SotC and Ico.

What's with the first-person view, even on the PC version? It looks like it's too close or something. Reminds me of Borderlands.

I think this sword design that looks straight out of Final Fantasy 7 says it all, almost like the dev team is actually trolling its fans.

Was that a pic from Dragon Age or Monster Hunter?

Everything went down the drain when they allowed media consolidation and allowed open lies in "news" (Fox fought a court battle to get that one).

At this point Republicans are just as much victims, being driven by the right wing talking points circle jerk (The majority of GOP presidential hopefuls work for Fox News. You can't tell me that's healthy)

Just talk to the average GOP voter and you'll hear how net neutrality is a conspiracy by Barack HUSSEIN Obama to force Texans to marry Muslim goats or something. Whatever the details, they won't make any sense but if you've watched Glen Beck long enough that won't stop you.

The balloons carry the GameStop logo, and so the game store has borne the brunt of the blowback on this

Hmm, sounds like a win-win to me!

As much as I'm enjoying the game, the story absolutely sucks. And giving Clarke a face and voice has been a step backwards. But the environments and "set pieces" are on a bigger scale - which I love - and the ability to maneuver around freely in zero-gav is nice too.

Dead Island video creators defend vision…

So I finally watched that trailer last night. And it's a total rip off of the video The Scientist from Coldplay (which was an awesome video, for its time).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxNJHuM0Js0

I don't know if that's fair, since that video was entirely backwards and the Dead Island was a combination. I mean, you could say that Coldplay video is a ripoff of the film Irreversible.

Big surprise: everyone loves Bulletstorm. Why do they even bother with reviews nowadays? Every AAA title gets this treatment. When was the last time a AAA title got bombed?

The issue wasn't "too serious and dark," the issue was Rated R

I think you missed the point I was trying to make. Verbinski said, Because the R rating is inherent. Little Sisters and injections and the whole thing.

I was alluding to the inherent aspect of it. I'm not arguing for/against Hollywood's reason why they don't want to take a chance. I'm saying it's sad that they won't take a chance. Verbinski looked at the material and reasoned that in order to portray that properly (in his mind), it would need an R rating.

Used Skyline and Ironman 2 as examples of junk and how quickly Hollywood jumps all over it.

Um not sure why this is eye roll inducing. EA's portfolio is huge, and they seem genuine about not just milking 1 or 2 IP's to death like Ol Bobby "Douchecanoe" Koticover at Vivendi Bl.. er Activision Blizzard.

Just because their portfolio is huge doesn't mean it's the strongest. I'm sure Riccitiello is referring to money-making when he says strongest (and maybe you are too), but I was rolling my eyes at the way he portrays it. There aren't many titles I enjoy from EA apart from the Dead Space series.

They have so many past series that they could reboot and if done well, would sell by the truckload.

I won't argue with that. Unfortunately, if you just sit on them they are essentially useless.

I couldn't really get past anybody that would spend the money that it would take to do it and keep an R rating. Alternately, I wasn't really interested in pursuing a PG-13 version. Because the R rating is inherent. Little Sisters and injections and the whole thing. I just wanted to really, really make it a movie where, four days later, you're still shivering and going, "Jesus Christ!"... It's a movie that has to be really, really scary, but you also have to create a whole underwater world, so the pricetag is high. We just didn't have any takers on an R-rated movie with that pricetag.

Man, that is sad. We get movies like Skyline and Ironman 2, but no one will take a chance on BioShock because it might be too "serious and dark." Crying

When asked about the HL franchise and if they will bring 'alternate' content to it, Erik Johnson replies, "We’re fine with this uncomfortable silence going on for as long as you want."

They are definitely working on the next HL and it will be huge. At least, that's ho I read it.

How not buggy is it now? I'm curious to play, but don't want to deal with constant crashes and bugs.

Been playing the past 3 days and haven't had a problem. In fact, Gameplaymonthly.com has a contest going where they're giving away 5 Steam codes for the game. I think it's on their front page.
