And btw, i didnt thought this was worth mentioning but my first attempt was actually at 1024x768.

The racing stripes have the original vertical size (which means they take too much space). But still, with some arrangements (such as the "today on ugo / send news"), you can see the free space on the bottom.

Thontor, i do not use 800x600 myself.
But as someone said before on this boards, 800x600 should be taken in mind when youre trying to create a site with such a large userbase.

You dont want to put horizontal scroll bars on the poor "800x600" guys do you?

Besides on higher resolutions, some stuff expand, some graphics expand, content expands too, and everyone is happy.

Well, first of all i should say that imo, the "old" design was way better than the current one (well, of what we've seen so far).

Main gripe: the vertical space that is beeing wasted on numerous things.

So, I took some time to put my ideas on "paper".

Check these out:

Blues News as it is. You can barely see the first news item and there is horizontal scroll.

The way I would do it (heh, if i had to). You will notice that you can almost read the first news item completely and there is no horizontal scroll. Looks good overall.

I didnt want to redesign BluesNews, that wasnt the objective at all.
I just took the items that are already present on the page (like the racing stripes, advertisements, UGO logo, etc) and reordered them.

Thanks Ray,

I was (obviously?) looking at Blues site not 3DG.

Looks like Frans has just what Blue needs here on BluesNews (the form)

Well Frans, where is that feedback page?

And now that you mention this, you should think about setting up a real feedback/contact page with a form so those that have problems reaching Blue via regular email could use it.

Just make sure its not joe schmoe's form-to-mail script, otherwise the spam bots will exploit it.

Ray, that is exactly the problem.

Emailing to blue@bluesnews.com wont make a difference.

Thanks anyway.

It doesnt defeat the purpose because when you maximize the window, and im going to take BluesNews as an example but this DOES apply to most of the websites out there, the content expands too.

And with that happening you get to see/read more of the content, without using anykind of scroll.

It's not insanely crap....just crap. After you have played the demo you will know how the rest of the game plays.

huh, is that good or bad, seriously, is that your best on reviewing a demo?

Soccer aka Football is very easy.

There are two teams with 11 players each.
There are 3 referees.

Field is big and rectangular and has 2 sides, each side has a goal.
The objective is to kick the ball inside the goal.

You are allowed to play with your feet, legs, head and torso. Feet is obviously the most used.

The only ones allowed to play with their hands are the goalkeepers, each team has only one goalkeeper. They have a limited area where they can play with their hands, which is near the goal.

Very basically , thats it it. Once the referee blows the whistle, game is on!

1998 is ancient.

And that photo is way in your face. With the flash and all, theres no way it would be a nice depiction of El Presidente.

We either hang the photographer or throw him to the sharks.

#26, it is him, look at his comments history on BN.

I think Blue should hand out some "green-cards" to the devs more often.

IIRC, the only guys that have those tags are from 3DR and someone from Raven... (?)
