And the game's gone gold. Betas only fix bugs, not improve the gameplay.

Freedom of religion doesn't include respecting others' views.
Disrespect of others' views is in fact a protected right under the exact same amendment.

No, actually, your first amendment rights do not apply in a private forum.

Some armed forces (mainly special forces) use special simulators to train the soldiers in tactics. I don't think they even fire guns, and just use a plastic replica.
Want to know what Sim the army uses? A game that's released under the name Real War. Definitely not a twitch FPS like doom.

Saying lawyers should be punished for being hired to do their job is absurd. It reinforces that people can do things like that without being punished. People here seem to be letting a silly, irrational, unfounded dislike for attorneys get to their head.
The fact is, FEW cases EVER go to trial. Lawyers take the cases, expecting a settlement. It is the choice of the parties involved wether or not a case goes to trial.

It would cost them more to leave it out on the market and have the bad press.

First off, "imoralistic" isn't a word.
Second, Doom wasn't one of the most violent games at the time of the shootings. Doom came out when I was in sixth grade.
Quit trolling.

"True, but they also don't have the forebearance to say "Get lost" when a frivalous suit comes their way. If they were in danger of paying a fine, they would."
This is america. everyone has the right to bring a suit to trial. Wether it's a waste of time or not, is nothing to do with the attorney. Keep in mind that attorneys ARE optional. People can represent themselves.

"Doctor's can get sued, fined, or lose their license for performing frivilous medical procedures."
Yes, sued by the patient, or by doing them without pay. You can pay a doctor to do whatever medical procedure you want them to do. Do you consider plastic surgery necessary?

I'd like to take this time, to praise whatever god there is, for giving us the gift of Doug Lowenstein. Without that guy, we'd have to be buying GTA3 from porn shops.

If it's illegal, what they do is charge the person filing the suit. Lawyers don't go around saying "Oh I think I'll go grab someone to sue this guy".
Lawyers are paid to represent the state or a client. It's the client or the state that raises the charges.

Deus Ex 2 and Theif 3 are both using the Unreal Warfare engine. DX2 is also integrating a newer, better physics engine.
But since UT2 for the PC is coming out with alot more than UT2 for the console, I wouldn't doubt that the Unreal Warfare console engine is a toned down version of the PC engine.
