An economy-based, multiplayer experience? Command and Conquer? WTF is wrong with these idiots? Economy-based sounds like an excuse for server-side control and always-online DRM. Why the hell else would you put it into a C&C game?

So... they get lots of feedback and realize the game isn't what people want in a C&C game (as if actually playing the original C&C games wouldn't be enough to know what a C&C game is; personally sick of all the rampant "re-imagining" of great PC game IP), so they just decide not to make a C&C game at all, effectively ignoring all the feedback they did get. Hmmm... EA isn't going to make a new C&C game... I'm fine with that.

I said earlier I wished I hadn't bought it, but I'm having fun with it. I'll wait and see what kind of fix they come up with. If it's now episodic, and they have a proper crew working on it, I'll probably get the next episode(s) as well.

The video they released a while back didn't impress me at all as a PC mech game. All I want is Mechwarrior with single player campaign(s), multiplayer (LAN and internet), customizable mechs and load-outs, and a complicated KEYBOARD/MOUSE/JOYSTICK control scheme and interface. From what I've seen so far, I give it about a CS7 on the Consolized Scale.

"Butthurt Liberal" says the guy who comes on a gaming site and can barely make a post without mentioning Obama, according to his post history.
He and his ilk are always angry, paranoid, and spoiling for fights just so they can vent about shit that has nothing to do with the topic at hand, and about which they have no clue. They'll pull any conversation into their morrass of delusional bullet-point dogma just so they can regurgitate it ad nauseam. It's cult-like behavior. Their mindset and utter failure at simple logic reminds me of the acronym GIGO, learned on the first day of beginning programming... Garbage In, Garbage Out. And everything inside the GOTP media bubble is absolute garbage. The only thing that can remedy his obsession with the black guy in the White House involves a windowless black van, men in white coats, and about 6 months of deprogramming. It's just easier to ignore him.

What a sad existence.

I bought it. Now I wish I hadn't. Failed Kickstarter? Guess that should have been my clue to hold off buying for awhile.

Christ Centered Gamer is always good for a chuckle. "The Wolf Among Us" scored 0/10 for both violence and language, but a 5/10 for Occult/Supernatural. I guess if you can believe in magic and talking snakes, talking frogs and pigs aren't too far out there.

I'm pretty sure the decision to remove jumping has nothing to do with consoles. Plenty of first-person console games have jumping. Hell, CoD, the epitome of consolitis, has jumping.

Nothing to do with consoles? Really? How many first-person PC games don't allow jumping? I think it was a combination of controller limitations, and the limited imaginations of designers making maps for millions of easily-confused console gamers. Hand-holding seems to be a pretty huge part of their design concept.

Only console-minded numbnuts like these would even consider an XP system for a Thief game. More affirmation of my decision to not go anywhere near this game. BTW, whoever mentioned Dark Mod in a previous thread, thanks. I'm loving it.
"Fans might be surprised how often the devs go to the forum to see how things are perceived in the "real world.""
Going to the forums is a long way from giving a shit what is being said. At least they admit they don't live in the real world. I wonder if their world actually has PC gamers.

"Showing off the game"? Nope. How about an -NG tag for trailer links that show absolutely no gameplay? Or maybe -CWOT (complete waste of time)? Or -AMSYNGB (a minute seven you'll never get back)? Hell, even -TISFBINETSBIITGN would work (trailer is so fucking boring I'm not even the slightest bit interested in the game now).

Why are we arguing about piracy? I mean jesus christ piracy is the #1 selling point of PC gaming, whether it be emulation or native titles, and it always has been. No one cares.
Well... speak for yourself. What a dumb statement. I counter it with "braindead, button-mashing gameplay is the #1 selling point of console gaming".

The agurement of 'not making it availabe so I can just take it' is total bullshit.

I don't think people are claiming any form of entitlement to d/l roms because they aren't available. They're just saying they're d/ling them because they aren't available. And maybe they would pay for them if they were available. Maybe they wouldn't. Anyhoo, it's not like grabbing a non-available rom results in a lost sale (which is a favorite, although complete bullshit, PC anti-piracy claim).

Gamepad and trackpad in one. Still inferior to kb/m, imnsho. However, if PC games can be developed for this controller without compromising traditional PC game controls/interface/customizability at all... it's all good.

"It’s simply impossible to listen to everybody out there, so the guys working on Thief have really learned to trust their feelings behind their decisions. Nothing would get done otherwise. If we decided to backpedal and add in “taffer” because a bunch of people wanted it, we’d get another complaint the next day from someone else saying, “Why stay stuck in the past?”"

IOW... "We didn't listen to a fucking thing PC gamers told us. We don't want them to buy this game."

Ok, I won't.
