That's a third degree burn there, Blue. Will we even see S42 out by 2030? At this rate, doesn't seem likely.

Most of the diversication of the human race happened before anyone even left the african continent.Cutter wrote on Mar 14, 2024, 16:24:Race is more or less an artificial construct, and so is nationality. Hating everyone who descends from a specific country might not fit the flawed definition of hating a "race". But the real world consequences are largely the same. Many, if not most, "races" that have been the victims of massive racism, arent really a "race" at all, but a group that for cultural, geographical or religious reasons have been deemed to be a "race", such as jews.Prez wrote on Mar 14, 2024, 15:31:
Are we supposed to be racist against Russians now? I guess I didn't get that memo. Those of you who don't like America, do you hate me as well?
Bigoted. Russians aren't a race, they're a people.

I dont think boycotting Saber will do much of anything in this regard, but Putins regime is in a position where they basically charges a huge bribe to big companies in Russia, and funnels the money into more powergrabbing and personal enrichment effort. In short, it is a corrupt state.

so… Prices went up because of Covid. Covid is gone, big business is raking in the cash, prices sure as hell aren’t going to go down. Blame Biden am I right? Republicans had blocked anti-inflation measures. I guess they want to solve the problem by giving more tax cuts for the rich.
Prez wrote on Mar 9, 2024, 18:48:Yes, this is why the laws and regulations need to be stricter, and focused on whats good for workers, the middle class etc instead of whats good for corporations. Ironically, this would also be good for business, in the long run, because things like free education would lead to businesses having a set of workers that were educated to choose from. And they wouldnt have to offer things like a healthcare plan to their workers.
The problem with simply relying on laws of the land, at least here in the US, is two-fold. Firstly, the laws are heavily in favor of businesses. I know that many will be aghast upon hearing that but it's true. Secondly there is a huge amount of wiggle room allowed for by labor law for it to protect workers from a lot of what corporations do. There is an ocean of difference between what a company can legally do and what is the ethical thing to do.
Prez wrote on Mar 9, 2024, 18:33:This is true. Unions are not enough to counter corporate greed and worker exploitation , out-sourcing to temp workers, and low wages. You also need the other boring and "necessary evil" stuff, where companies are obligated to follow laws that prevent that kind of shit.
It's a common misconception that if you unionize you can't be laid off. I worked union jobs most of my life and that is very demonstrably false. What unionization does is restore just a little bit of the balance between the power of the employee and the corporation. I look at them as a necessary evil. When you are in a union you absolutely don't get walked all over by your employer as much. The power of the many and all that. That doesn't mean that they still can't be shitbags, and they still hold a clear advantage in the power dynamic, but without fail they help defend against monolithic corporate entities who would treat you like absolute shit otherwise.

Unionize in a bad economy with people being laid off left and right.....
bye Activision "quality control". department closed next week. all laid off.
The economy is booming...for the rich. Absolute shit for the rest of us. Food and rent through the roof, housing prices all out of reach and now all owned by private equity. GDP is voodoo economics and is meaningless. Unemployment because most people have to work 2-3 shitty dead end, wage slave, no benefit jobs just to survive thanks to Biden's gross ineptitude. That and his allowing millions upon millions of illegals into the country only further exacerbating those problems of food and rent cost and rental availability.

BicycleRepairMan wrote on Mar 4, 2024, 16:17:yes,yes,yes, the eagle eyed among you will point out starship troopers , lots of fantasy stuff and DRG itself. But you also get what I mean.. its not like its some order from above "make a starwars game" type shit.
Hopefully it will be games that developers dreamt up and are passionate about, and not a bunch of shit based off of previous ip's like star wars or call of duty and fucking spiderman. I am so freakin tired of all that. And recent trends agree. People will play games en masse that arent stricktly based on anything famous (Helldivers, enshrouded, Deep Rock Galactic:Survivor), just make a GOOD FUCKING GAME, and people will find it and play.
BicycleRepairMan wrote on Mar 3, 2024, 19:44:
Good. Respawn should make a cool game based on being a cool game and not based on Star Wars or any other oversaturated Hollywood crap. Look at helldivers or enshrouded or deep rock Galactic , just cool shit based on what the developer thinks will be cool. And that works. People play it because its good. Not because its got the marketing budget of a starwars movie.
