Looks like a Marine Corps confidence course--only without insane DIs screaming in your ear. Bet he wouldn't be so fast if some asshole was following him around and comparing his mother's genitalia to the less desirable parts of a skunk.

I agree with CJ_Parker; need a demo with SP skirmish mode before I'll commit cash to this one.

As for the MP open beta... I don't play with the unwashed masses. Me and Sartre were on the same wavelength.

Former beta tester here. I agree with all of the above; this thing is a big ol' stinky pile of donkey poo.

"Emmy-winning MySpace user" sounds no sillier than "professional gamer." Maybe less so.

Great news, Awesome Spume! You've just cinched the 2007 Assclown of the Year Award.

Way to go! It takes a true, lifelong, dedicated assclown to capture the award this early in the year. You're a natural.

The kid in the car video is certainly an annoying little twit, but how does the video make him a Darwin Award nominee? He didn't kill himself, (unfortunately).

I'd never heard of this game, so I did a quick Metacritic search: Gamespot gave it a whopping 27 out of 100. Zowie!

Gamespot is usually pretty conservative and consistent in their scoring criteria, with the mean range of their review scores falling between 50 and 80. For them to give it a 27, it must really, really, REALLY suck.

I'll avoid this thing like it was a puke-covered cow pattie.

When Derek Smart and his team

What "team"? Does Derek have a mouse in his pocket?

EDIT: Or has his ego finally splintered off into a split personality?

Who cares? Video game competitions are pointless geek-fests. The local cable channels probably get better ratings than this stupdity will ever achieve.

CBS is desperate because their ratings are going down faster than a New Orleans whore in crack withdrawals. They'll try anything to gain a composite Nielson point--and airing a video game competition is right down at the bottom of "anything."

Have to disagree with their assessment of dog intellgence vis-a-vis basset hounds. They're not dumb at all, just incredibly, irritatingly stubborn. They know precisely what you want them to do, but refuse to do it until you threaten physical violence, then they go right to the task with gusto.

Come to think of it, they're a lot like many of the Marines I used to command.

Hrm. I may have argued myself into a corner here...

It's only worth what somebody will pay for it, and I wouldn't give her ten cents for the whole kit-and-kaboodle. I was completely unimpressed by Second Life; the graphics are crappy, and that seems to be the only thing it has going for it.

I liked the demo, as it pretty faithfully replicates the overall feel of the tabletop game; the army editor is incredibly well-done. But I think I'm gonna let 'em hammer out a few patches for it first, as there was a nasty memory leak in the demo.

I read the synopsis of the book, and I want my sixty seconds back. It makes the collected works of John Ringo look like a Shakespeare festival.

If you've the good fortune not to have attempted to read any of Ringo's books, he's one of the worst military sci-fi writers ever to be published. Maybe publishing Ringo was Jim Baen's idea of a practical joke.
