Wasn't there a Unreal game which ran better once the copy protection was removed?

A little searching on google, check out the second half of this post:
http://www.penny-arcade.com/2002/09/30/

Unreal 2003 was actually the last PC game I've ever bought, it just wasn't worth the trouble any more. I haven't really played anything on the PC other then Flash games since then.

Well... from what I know about MP3... I think the numeric "genres" list is no longer current. Newer programs such as iTunes allow you to change the tags to whatever you want to type. Some of the older ones have a drop down list only which can leave you hunting for the genre that fits best.

Best bet is to just group select them in iTunes and rename the genre as you see fit. iTunes is wonderful for editing the metadata if you don't want to mess with automatic stuff.

With having ripped over 13,000 mp3's with CDex, I hate having to figure out which genre fits best. Is it Jungle? Techno? Hardcore Techno? Happy Hardcore? Electronica? Ambiant? Trance? Chill? Rock? Hard Rock? Alt. Rock? "Classic Rock?"

AARRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!

I don't even know what half of these mean!!!

I handle the heat about as well as Frosty the Snowman, but I've never experienced a dry heat. I use to live in a costal city, and now in the "Ottawa Valley" the air just sits here and gets thick. From my 10th floor apartment we usually have a good view but the last few days you could just see the haze in the air.

Yuck.

Tho' it seems to have broken a little bit tonight... It's only 21(26)C!

100 fucking degrees (that's FAHRENHEIT, you fuckers!!! ) in June

Good lord... is that with the humidex??? Yesterday it hit 42C with the humidex (107.6F according to Google) and about 32-33C without it (89.6F again, according to Google).

Today it's only a cool 35C (Humidex)... I should get myself a jacket.

Ottawa is such a nice city, but the 60 degree difference between seasons can really wear you down.

I don't think I could fathom 100F (38.8C) straight heat.

I'm sorry, all the pictures in the forum with the ppt were posted 2004-03-07.

I just thought they were cool photos, not necessarly about the recent storms.

It is a Newfoundland plate. The photo's were taken in St. John's.

If you have RealVideo, you can see what they went through yesterday: http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/01/25/newstorms-atlantic050125.html

And today it's expected to freeze.

Ottawa seems to be handling it poorly -

I actually had a little trouble getting to sleep the other night because we kept hearing this "bang"/"crack" sound in our apartment.

It sounded like someone slammed the door really hard on the balcony above us.

It would suck if my building fell down.

It's kinda funny, 'cause when we had the -45C (wind chill) I didn't notice anything like that, but the other night was only -35C (wc)...

Feels colder walking too. C'est Crazy. My girlfriend had ice on her glasses to the point she had trouble seeing and it's a 5 min walk to work for her, if that.

"The Day After Tomorrow" doesn't seem so far fetched now...

I guess grammar isn't one of those abilities, eh Wiwi? (it's 'than', not 'then')

Normally, that would be correct. But under the tennants of Newfoundland English, "than" and "then" are interchangeable. Also, "dey" would be acceptable, but to be accurate it would need to be: more den dey offer.

Also, any spelling mistakes you might see from me, aren't really spelling mistakes at all... just the Newfoundland English variations......

At least that's my story.... and I'm sticking to it.

you must be crazy.

It's not actually that bad. With a jacket from http://www.mec.ca you can take pretty much just about anything. In fact, besides days like today, I'm usually a little too warm. They're light as a feather too.

It's all about the "wind"chill. As long as your skin is not exposed you'll be fine. I've always toyed with the idea of getting something like a ski mask for days like today. It's the face that always hurts the most. That and taking a breath through the nose... you can feel it start to freeze, which is.... interesting. Of course, the front teeth can also start hurting if you breath through your mouth too much....

Alright, maybe I am a little crazy...

What's funny is that when I'm home in St. John's, the weather is so damp and windy that minus 7 or 10 can feel as bad or worse then the minus 30 here and it's harder to warm up. (And come Jan. or Feb. there's always the chance you'll be digging out street signs so you can find out where you are.)

Wiwi, walking in a winter wonderland.... (hope I don't die on my way home....)

It is freezing in Ottawa today... -43 with the windchill. And that should be this "new" windchill that's suppose to give higher numbers....

http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/forecast/24_hour_conditions_e.html?yow&unit=m

-40 is where C and F are suppose to be equal.

Freeze here for the next 2 days and then return home to "The Land of 6 Meter Snow" for X-mas...

Woo.

Things like this are why I haven't bought HL2 yet.... and it's killing me!

I like the idea of controlling cheating online, but offline - stay away. I think how it's been done with the original HL or UT2KX where you can be banned based on CD/WON/<X> key from servers, but it's still yours to use as you want, is my preferred method.

At face value, I love the idea of being able to dl a game... but I'm afraid that the heart is rotten and gives the publisher too much control over what they want me to buy.

When I go into a store, I want to buy the game. Steam appears to be more like an extended rental at the moment.

I almost expect there to be at "Insert Coin to Continue" the when you die in HL3. (Fully linked to the credit card on your steam account, of course. )

Perhaps things will get worked out in the future, but for now I stay on the sidelines and try not to be bitter at Valve.

You could try creating folders under the Links folder... I group my links into 2 or 3 folders. It's like creating seperate drop menus.

Also, you can add the Links folder to your task bar and use the same groups there. Check out my taskbar in this old screen shot to try and make sense of it of what I'm trying to say. http://www.deviantart.com/view/2744964/
