I'm curious - when the new heater was selected, did the plumber look at the current breaker in place? It is possible that you need a larger capacity breaker. Many electric water heaters have two sets of elements. Based on where you live I imagine you have very hard water. Over time these elements get covered with calcium deposits. They make the heater work harder and harder until they stop working. If you bought a larger capacity heater and didn't upsize the breaker to match it - then you could have an over amperage that would result in the breaker tripping, especially when the cold water level in the tank gets to the point where the second element comes on.

Of course it could also just be an old breaker. They are very simple to replace - just make sure that you are putting in the proper size to match the new heater. Turn off the main power, remove the outer cover, turn off the breaker and it pulls out almost like a LEGO. Take that to your hardware store and they will give you an appropriate replacement. The rails on each panel manufacturer can be a bit different.

I’ve had a copycat of that recipe and it was very good. Not really something you can have very often if you are trying to be health conscious!

Swordfish is absolutely spectacular.
I have had it a dozen times or so at a local SteakHouse by us... Truly the best fish I have ever had.
( the steaks are fabulous there too . )

I can't eat fish - no allergy just the smell and taste make me want to puke - so I'm always curious why people like certain fish. My bro's fave fish thing is trout almondine for example. What is it you like about swordfish?

I can't speak for others - but swordfish is very unfishy - almost beef like when I've had it grilled.

John Oliver just did a bit on this, and (surprise!) the plastics industry lobbied to get the recycle symbol on all plastics, regardless if they can be recycled or not. Something like only 5% of plastic can be.
Edited for a typo.

In my area they initially had us sorting the paper/plastic/glass/cans. They told us we have to fully rinse all containers and remove lids. If you don’t then your stuff is considered contaminated and is just thrown away.

I toured a local recycling facility for work and sure enough 80% of what was coming in the door was just tossed. Not very efficient.

Except it's really not. That's what I used to think, but the research doesn't support it. Read a book called The Obesity Code. It takes a very deep and very scientific look at the fundamental causes of widespread obesity (spoiler: it's mostly caused by processed foods industry and putting sugar in everything).
Oh we are talking about the same thing really. People don’t realize how calorie dense current foods are. It’s so easy to hit your maximum daily intake in 1 fast food meal.

I will definitely read the book you mention- I bet if you read the one I mentioned you’d see how much what you just said relates to what I said as well.

Edit - I broke a tag and I’m not sure how to fix it!

I would marvel at your, presumably normal, eating instincts. My body's desire to eat is messed up. I can eat something like the traditional Thanksgiving "stuff yourself" dinner where most people say, "OMG, I ate too much" and 30 minutes later be looking for something to snack on. My body always wants to eat -- if I am not busy. If I am engrossed in a game, book, movie, whatever -- I can go hours without eating. But the instant I'm idle, my body is looking to eat. It sucks. It is a constant battle.

I have cravings too. I’ve found that certain foods make it worse for sure. If you like to read I suggest you check out the book Salt Sugar Fat by Michael Moss. I bet you will find that some of what is happening to you is due to the biochemical reactions that fios engineers bank on.

I suspect it is at least in part (mostly?) a result of my childhood eating habits. I graduated high school at 6' 2" weighing 150 lbs. This despite the fact I ate like a pig as a kid. I'd have multiple snacks everyday, have seconds and thirds at dinner, drank somewhere north of half a gallon of whole milk everyday. And now I live with those eating habits without a growing body or a hyped up metabolism.

I was 6’1 and weighed about 135# so I get it. I vary between 175 and 185 now depending on the season.

I’ve had the biggest success with managing my health in small increments. It can seem frustrating to do it that way but those small changes seem to have a better chance of sticking for me.

Ahh yes old timey workouts. Right up there with Steak and Eggs.

95% of what people weight is based on how many calories they take in vs. how many they burn. It's simple math. I work with a large number of obese people. They marvel at my normal BMI. Put in what you burn and stay where you are. It really is that simple for 95% of the population.

Anyone get the 2nd Moderna dose? How did you fair, I've been hearing it's pretty harsh?
Is it pain or discomfort, more or less than 3 or 4 days?

My wife got the Moderna. She was wiped out for 24 hours with a 102 fever. Slept all afternoon. The next day it was like nothing ever happened.

I got the Pfizer- day two I felt sleepy and warm - that’s it.

One of my kids got the J&J it wrecked him for 12 hours - chills/sweats/fever/sore arm - then fine like it never happened.

Well, we're headed into a month long lockdown starting tomorrow. Oh fucking joy. Meanwhile you guys down there are all vaccinated, doing a little dance, making a little love, and getting down tonight. There's no end in sight to this shitshow up here.

I have a good friend in the suburbs of Toronto and I'm genuinely worried for him and his spouse. I got my second shot yesterday. Feeling fine so far.

I hope you guys get the vaccine soon.

I think it's just another name for a strip steak.

I've never heard that term down my way and I spend a lot of time grilling/smoking various meats.

Hey! Good to see you, Bronco.

You too buddy!
Washington State has just moved up the date to 4/15 for having all adults over 16 eligible for the vaccine. I thought I'd check again and was accepted this time after I clicked on the "works in manufacturing" box. Turns out there's an open spot tomorrow at my grocery store so I'm getting stuck tomorrow.

PA is accelerating things too. My wife has had both her shots - my parents as well. I'm getting my second on Thursday of next week. I had to drive over 1.5 hours for my appointment - deep into the 'tucky' part of Pennsyltucky. I live just on the fringe of it.

It's a good thing too, as most of my co-workers are not very cautious (although only one, the owner of the company, has caught it). My 81 year old mom lives with my sister and is pretty much bed-ridden, and at this point we're not sure how we're going to get her vaccinated, so this will make me feel better about visiting and helping out over there.

Sounds the same here - I've actually had a few co-workers seriously try to tell me about the micro-chip it installs!

Welp, Canada is headed back into lockdown yet again - fucking shocker. Rolleyes And given the lack of vaccines - and continued lack going forward - I'm sure it won't be the last.

Emailed the PMO and told that sack of shit to lift travel restrictions on the country. That idiot should be encouraging people to go elsewhere and get vaccines if they can. Fuck, I hope Cuba is ready to start doing tourists come May.

People in central NY have been heading down into the middle of PA and getting vaccinated - lots of appointments in central PA available. Something about people there not believing this is a big deal or some such is causing them to avoid getting vaccinated....
