Here is the
official
reveal trailer for
Call of Duty: Black Ops III, a futuristic
installment in the series in development at Treyarch. The description indicates
we can expect this to be released on November 6th, and that you can
preorder the game right now
for Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 to get beta access, though they make no
promises about when the beta will commence. Also,
Eurogamer's preview of the game discusses the co-op campaign,
"augment-fuelled multiplayer," and more. Finally, after a visit to Treyarch,
VG247 came away with system specifications, though these are neither minimum
nor recommended, as word is they "are designed with low end and high end builds
in mind," whatever that means. They do have quotes from Treyarch covering the
spectrum, however. "For players on high-end rigs there are feature-rich options
for them. You’ve invested in your rig, you want to be able to turn on all those
options and play all maxed out," explains Treyarch boss Mark Lamia. "And with
moderate PCs we’re doing a lot of optimisations up front and making sure you can
have an awesome experience too."

A
thread on the Doomworld forums has the release of a bunch of files from the
development of
DOOM and
DOOM II, courtesy of John Romero. This began with
the source
code from the original NEXTSTEP version of the DoomEd editor, followed by
the
release of original map and source files from DOOM,
The Ultimate DOOM,
and DOOM II, along with the source code for a DOOM Print tool. He capped off this
spree by fulfilling a request for the cut textures, flats and other artwork
from the files, which
The Romero
provides "plus some extras." There is still an active community centered
around modifying and developing for the old school first-person shooter, and
this has spurred considerable celebration in those circles. Speaking of that
community,
Doomworld also notes the release of
DOOM
RETRO version 1.7 and
Facepunch points to a
new Brutal Doom v20 Official Trailer. Thanks
Ant.

This will prove to be a disaster, and may damage the PC the modding

I don't know anyone who likes doggies more than I do, and I have a lot more
patience for most of them than I have for most people. This may help you
appreciate how bad the incessant barking is from a neighbor's yard right now
that it's starting to make me crazy. If it was just barking I could handle it,
but it's that kind of baying only hound dogs can produce that eventually starts
to wear out your last nerve. It's not quite gotten to Elaine Benes levels yet,
but it's getting there.
