Evil Dead: The Game is no longer available for purchase for PC, as the PvPvE multiplayer game based on the Evil Dead movies and shows is no longer for sale on Steam, while its Epic Games Store Listing is just gone without a trace. Its Epic launch came less than three years ago and it arrived on Steam barely two years ago as a Game of the Year Edition (showing how quickly pride can turn to shame). Development on the game ended in 2023, and it seems logical that this news is because a licensing deal expired. And though no longer sold, the game can still be played by those who own it already, so it's surprising it was pulled with no advance notice from Saber Interactive. A terse update offers thanks to players, including "those who have recently joined us," while offering no apologies or refunds:
We can confirm we've begun the process of removing the game from digital storefronts. Anyone who has purchased the game will still be able to play it as we plan to keep our servers online for everyone.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to our community, to those who have been part of the game from the very beginning, and those who have recently joined us. We appreciate all of your support.
On a related note, an announcement on Steam gives a heads-up that several Leisure Suit Larry games will soon be delisted from Steam. After that they will still be playable, but no longer sold. In contrast to the story above, however, those interested in owning these games still have a chance to pick them up before the ax drops. Here's word:
After decades of questionable pickup lines and unforgettable adventures, itâs finally time for Larry to hang up his leisure suitâat least the retro version of it!
The following classic titles will soon be leaving the Steam store and will no longer be available for purchase:
- Leisure Suit Larry - Magna Cum Laude Uncut and Uncensored
- Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards
- Leisure Suit Larry 2 - Looking For Love (In Several Wrong Places)
- Leisure Suit Larry 3 - Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals
- Leisure Suit Larry 5 - Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work
- Leisure Suit Larry 6 - Shape Up Or Slip Out
- Leisure Suit Larry 7 - Love for Sail
A WRC Development Update from EA SPORTS is more of an un-development update, announcing the end of the WRC series of rally racing games. Word is: "After releasing EA SPORTS WRC in 2023, the 2024 season, including the recently released Hard Chargers Content pack, will be our last expansion." Though it fought to purchase Codemasters in 2020 after a deal had already seemingly been struck, EA already went on a spree earlier this year to delist a bunch of other titles by the British developer. The announcement invokes a couple of other deceased rally racing series in announcing it is stepping back from the dirt track for the foreseeable future. A xeet from FIA World Rally Championship indicates the future of World Rally Championship games lies with another partner:
What a ride it's been! Over the past three years, WRC has been elevated to another level in the gaming world thanks to the dedication of EA SPORTS and Codemasters. Now, our WRC gaming franchise is going in an ambitious new direction with more news coming in the near future. Until that time, gaming fans can continue to experience the pinnacle of rallying on EA SPORTS WRC.
A new article from Ubisoft lays out the post-launch roadmap for Assassin's Creed Shadows, giving players an idea of what to expect over the next year in the stealth/action sequel. There are details on three content updates over the next two months as well as a look at what will come after that. This includes an expansion called Claws of Awaji expected by the end of this year which will be free for preorder customers. There's an accompanying trailer where the developers discuss the future in detail. Here's word on content updates and the expansion:

Moroi is now available on Steam, offering a single-player puzzle/adventure for Windows from Violet Saint and Good Shepard Entertainment. The announcement is sparse, just saying it "resolves several issues found in the previous release," but it points to these patch notes. The extensive notes run 38 pages with no relief, as they point back to the initial post for a summary that doesn't exist. Maybe there will be more details in the notes of the next hotfix. Responding to speculation that the release date for Borderlands 4 was moved up to avoid conflicting with the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, an X/tweet from Randy Pitchford denies that this is the case. This is met with considerable skepticism, and it seems fair to say the Gearbox CEO's contention that testing is going so well that an 11-day adjustment was deemed necessary 135 days in advance does feel like a stretch. On a related note, here's a reminder that a Gameplay Deep Dive Showcase for Borderlands 4 begins today at 5:00 pm EDT. Read on for Randy's post:
Borderlands 4 shipping early is 100% the result of confidence in the game and development trajectory backed by actual tasks and bug find/fix rates. Our decision is literally 0% about any other productâs actual or theoretical launch date.

KIBORG is now available for PC and consoles, launching a roguelite fighting game where you do battle in "the worst prison in the galaxy." Giants great Eli Manning could buy ownership stake. As you might guess, I'm all about this. And that's before you even get to the fact that Tom Brady owns a minority stake in the Raiders, meaning the Brady and Manning's NFL rivalry would have the chance to continue on for years and years, which is a fun prospect. And on the topic of football and former Patriots, what the hell is going on with Bill Belichick? The guy famous for controlling the narrative seems to have lost his superpower.
