Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 Sells 1M

Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 is getting less obscure all the time. On Friday, French developer Sandfall Interactive announced a half-million sales since the launch of the RPG just the day before. Now, a new post announces the game has surpassed the one-million sakes mark just three days after its debut:

And here we are.
Three days after launch.
One million copies sold.

Thank you for believing in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Chinese Frontiers

SolidGames and Big Cheese Studio are developing Chinese Frontiers, a building game set in medieval China "coming soon" to Steam. This involves historical settings, including the chance to work on the Great Wall of China. It was previously announced, so this video is from a couple of months ago, showing off some character design and here's DevLog #17 on Daily Routines. Here's the description:

Embark on an epic journey through medieval China in this immersive building and survival simulation. Begin as a humble worker, learning construction and crafting techniques. Develop your settlement, build workshops, and prepare for the Emperor’s summons to undertake monumental projects along the Great Wall.

Experience an engrossing step-by-step building system, where every meticulously designed structure showcases your growing expertise. As your skills evolve, you'll be able to construct ever more impressive edifices.

Out of the Blue

As I mentioned yesterday, MrsBlue and I are celebrating our anniversary, as we got married 29 years ago today. Thank you so much for your well wishing for the occasion. We had a fine time at dinner last night. The service was meh, but the food and atmosphere were both excellent, so on balance it was more than fine.

For followers of the NFL draft, day three is always interesting, and yesterday was no exception. I'm ecstatic that my Giants managed to pick up my favorite draft prospect in the fourth round. And the mysterious Shedeur Sanders slide ended when the Browns drafted him in the fifth(!) round. Dropping to 144th after potentially being a top-five pick seems like a real character check for someone who's been hearing lots of questions about his makeup. I think the video of him celebrating the news of his selection speaks volumes about his resilience, as you wouldn't be able to tell he wasn't the first overall pick from his joyous dancing. He seems like a real self-righting boat, which has to be a real asset for a pro athlete. It will be interesting to see how his career ends up playing out.
