We guessed a freebie or two would come as part of the GOG Spring Sale,* but we'll skip the victory lap because that was a no-brainer. Here's the legacy of this 1999 release:
You are a journalist summoned by an aged explorer who has been "branded" with questionable credibility for over 50 years. The old explorer's tale tells of traveling to the mysterious Central American country, called Amerzone. His story claims that the large egg that he brought back was associated with native Indian tribal beliefs and rituals involving the proliferation of great white birds that fly continuously from the time that they are born and never land seems incredible. A playtest is underway for Renown to help prepare RDBK Studios' action/adventure for its impending Early Access launch. You can request access on Steam, but this post refers to the playtest as an "open demo," suggesting that everyone will be automatically accepted. It offers an Open Demo Developer Update Video discussing the news, and says: "We’re thrilled to announce the long-awaited news you’ve all been patiently waiting for, along with a short developer update discussing some of the changes!"
