Vesper’s Host is now available in Destiny 2, adding a new map and a new competition to Bungie's first-person shooter sequel. This out for PC and consoles, and the Windows edition is on Steam. Here's more on the race and how everyone who completes the dungeon in time will score a sniper rifle:

Tune into the Twitch Rivals Dungeon Race stream here to watch the best fireteams in the world compete in Contest Mode for glory (and prizes) in a race to the finish line. All players who triumph over this challenge during the first 48 hours after the dungeon launches will earn bragging rights, a special in-game emblem, and the iconic Ice Breaker Exotic Sniper Rifle, last seen in the original Destiny.

Additionally, those who complete the Vesper’s Host dungeon by 9:59 AM PST on February 5, 2025, will be able to purchase the Vesper’s Host bracelet, activewear hoodie, and collectible dungeon pin through Bungie Rewards. Those who complete and earn the “Unleashed” Title by the same deadline will also be able to purchase the Collectible Medallion pin in the Bungie Store.

Shanah tovah to all who are observing Yom Kippur, which began at sundown last night. This is the Jewish day of atonement, and quite a solemn occasion. But at least I won't have to atone for forgetting this like I did Rosh Hashanah the other day.

My mishap yesterday made me aware that my cloud backup isn't working properly. Thankfully I had a local physical backup too. I've jumped through some hoops but still have some issue to overcome, as I can get OneDrive to spend an hour updating its backup, but it won't pick up anything more recent than two years ago. Googling "OneDrive sync problems" uncovers countless articles to theoretically help because this basic function seems to fail for lots of users. So it's not just me, it seems this is another of those things that Microsoft managed to Zune up. Wish me luck.
