Musk: Neuralink Users May Challenge Pro Gamers

Yahoo! Finance quotes Elon Musk predicting that someone with a Neuralink chip implant in their brain will be able to outperform a pro gamer within "the next year or two." As of now, only one user has been implanted with one of these chips, so this sounds aggressive. But whether it's our fully automated cars or how city transportation has been revolutionized by tunnels, the Bond villain's predictions have always come true. So here's word on when you can start your pro gaming career by upgrading the CPU in your head, maybe followed by a bandwidth upgrade as well:
"We feel pretty confident that in the next year or two, someone with a Neuralink implant would be able to outperform a pro gamer because the reaction time would be faster," he said.

In March, Neuralink said the first human to have a chip implanted in his brain is a quadriplegic, who gained the ability to play video games using his mind.

Looking even further into the future, Musk said Friday that the long-term goal of Neuralink is to improve AI-human symbiosis by increasing a person's capacity to communicate at high volume.

Out of the Blue

We've been enjoying some of the Olympic Games here in the BlueTower. But this time around shows just how aggressive the 24 hour news cycle has become. It's very difficult to watch the prime time coverage on a delay from France without knowing the results in advance. Without seeking them out, I probably see four or five notifications of the outcomes in real time as they happen. We've actually ended up watching some contests while knowing the outcome in advance, so I guess this doesn't ruin things completely, but putting such emphasis on the outcomes before people get to watch the competitions certainly doesn't live up to the old "it's how you play the game" saying.
