Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in October

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Worldwide Reveal on the Official Website offers an October 25th release PC and console release date for the new installment in the military first-person shooter series. This comes with the Gameplay Reveal Trailer showing its 1990s setting along with the additional details promised when it was unveiled last month. The new version promises to go back to the future with the return of features like Classic Prestige and Round-Based Zombies. Here's the intro:

Core Keeper Leaves Early Access in August

Pugstorm and Fireshine Games announce Core Keeper will officially launch version 1.0 on August 27 following a very successful Early Access run for the sandbox RPG. A Content Reveal Trailer is here with a look at what to expect, and we follow with some new details, including word on the addition of PvP support:
Coming to Core Keeper for the very first time, the 1.0 update will introduce brand new PvP functionality, an entirely revamped world generation system and a mysterious new biome to explore: The Passage. I Am Your Beast Demo

Strange Scaffold announces I Am Your Beast, a cel shaded first-person shooter from the folks behind El Paso, Elsewhere. This will launch on Steam on August 15th, but there's a playable demo to check out right now. Here's the I Am Your Beast "Where are you Harding" trailer, and here's word on the game:
I Am Your Beast is a shortform covert revenge thriller FPS about getting hunted across the North American wilderness by the military-industrial complex--and turning the tables.

Sumerian Six Demo

Artificer and Devolver Digital announce Sumerian Six, an alternate-history tactical adventure coming to Windows later this year. This will put you in command of one of the Allies' famous teams of commando scientists to go behind enemy lines to fight Nazis, and uncover the inevitable arcane mysteries they are messing with. Stormgate Early Access in August

Stormgate will launch into Early Access on Steam on August 13th, offering the new real-time strategy game from Frost Giant Studios, a developer comprising veterans of StarCraft II and Warcraft III development. There's a chance to get to play even earlier, as those who pre-purchase the Early Access Bundle for the free-to-play game can get started on July 30th. A new Third Faction Revealed Trailer accompanies the news. Here's a bit on how this is to be a more accessible installment in the RTS genre:
Stormgate features a variety of innovative features meant to make this style of game more approachable than ever. The Quick Macro Panel (QMP) puts all of the actions players need to perform to build and maintain their armies at their fingertips while automated control groups make controlling armies a cinch. Stormgate also features a customizable player-assist tool called the BuddyBot that provides varying degrees of automated assistance. Designed for the benefit of new players as well as those with differing abilities, the BuddyBot gives players a helping hand by providing as much or as little help as desired. Phantom Line Announced

Antistatic Studios announces Phantom Line, a "paranormal SWAT" first-person shooter coming to Steam with a "to be announced" release date. But as noted in this post, you can participate in the game's June 2024 pre-alpha playtest by requesting an invitation on Discord. Here's a reveal trailer with a look, and here's a description:
You are the OPERATOR, part of an elite spec-op unit that deals with anomalies - bizarre and inexplicable events hidden from the public. You work for a mysterious megacorp called Mortfield Industries.

Streets of Rogue 2 Early Access in August

August 14th is the Early Access release date for Streets of Rogue 2, the sandbox adventure sequel. NUGGETS ENTERTAINMENT announces AMONG THE WILD, a "creative catching" first-person farming game that sports a TBA release date on Steam. The first look in the reveal trailer seems to be equal parts charming and horrifying, which seems to fit the genre. Here's word:

Atomfall Announced

Rebellion announces Atomfall, a survival/action game coming to PC, Game Pass, Xbox, and PlayStation next year. This is loosely based on the Windscale fire of 1957, described as the worst nuclear accident in the history of the United Kingdom. The game is an alternate history set five years after the disaster in a fictionalized exclusion zone. So, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Windscale maybe? Here's the Reveal Trailer and word:

Gears of War - E-Day Revealed

Microsoft capped off its presentation today by revealing Gears of War: E-Day, a prequel installment in the Gears of War series of third-person shooters. This is unveiled in an Official Announce Trailer said to be made of in-engine footage. It shows young Marcus and Dom, and invokes the memorable version of Mad World from the marketing of the first Gears of War 17 years ago. Besides Xbox there are no dates or platforms listed. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Next Month; Demo Tomorrow

A44 Games and Kepler Interactive announce their "souls-lite" action/RPG Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn will launch globally on July 18 for Windows, Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. This was announced in 2022 for release later that year, so this hit a speed bump along the way. But now that the Siege of Dawn is set to dawn, we have a new Release Date Announcement Trailer and word that a demo will join the Steam Next Fest tomorrow. Here's more:
If five weeks is too long to wait, A44 Games announced a demo for PC via Steam from June 10. The demo* starts players at the beginning of Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, giving them a glimpse into the world of Kian, which has been under siege for 10 years, and a chance to hone their combat skills. Now the Gods are loose, set free inadvertently by Nor, who must make amends aided by her mysterious companion, Enki, by defeating them to save humanity before they take over the world.

The Fallout 76 Xbox Games Showcase 2024 Trailer reveals the Skyline Valley content will launch on Wednesday for PC and consoles, adding new territory to the post-apocalyptic RPG prequel. And since everyone's all about the Ghouls thanks to Walton Goggins, this teases an update coming next year adding the chance to play as a Ghoul. Here's word:

A new Official Trailer for Starfield: Shattered Space shows off the upcoming expansion for the space-faring game. But the end of the clip reveals a new update coming to the base game today! DOOM: The Dark Ages Announced

Bethesda Softworks officially announces DOOM: The Dark Ages, confirming the rumored title of the next installment in id Software's first-person shooter series. This is expected next year for Windows, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Game Pass. The announcement trailer reveals it as a prequel, and along with familiar DOOM elements it shows several changes that take the action in new directions. One of them is skyward, as there's what appears to be dragon riding. We also see a throwable chainsaw shield and a demonic mech suit. Starship Troopers: Extermination in October

Watch out HELLDIVERS 2, this Official Release Date Trailer puts everyone on notice to expect Starship Troopers: Extermination on PC and consoles on October 11th. DREDGE: The Iron Rig in August

Black Salt Games and Team17 announce The Iron Rig is coming to DREDGE on August 15th, adding a second DLC to DREDGE, the sinister fishing adventure. This will require the base game, and will add new equipment, new characters. and new hazards, headlined by the kind of mysterious ooze that rarely turns out to be good news. As the drilling operation on the rig intensifies, something stirs in the primordial depths. A dark liquid begins to seep into familiar and once-safe areas of the game, transforming them into perilous zones. The Precinct in August

Publisher Kwalee and developer Fallen Tree Games announce an August 15th release date for The Precinct, a sandbox police procedural game coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. This is the brainchild of Jim Walls, a former police officer who was part of the development of Sierra On-Line's Police Quest series back in the day. This is a bit of a surprise, as a Kickstarter was announced in 2013 but was quickly cancelled after failing to gain traction. At the time the plan was to create a smaller prototype to shop the project around. This obviously worked, but it's been quite some time now. The Windows version has listings on the Epic Games Store and Steam, and a new Official Release Date Reveal Trailer is here with a look at gameplay. Dawn of Defiance Early Access in August

Traega Entertainment was announces August 15th as the Early Access launch date for Dawn of Defiance, its open-world, survival-crafting game. The Official Launch Date Announcement Trailer has the latest look at the game's setting in the world of Greek Mythology. Word is this shows "the game’s incredibly customizable base building systems, as well as the reveal of a threatening new late-game enemy type: the Gorgons." Here's the elevator pitch:

Nobody Wants to Die Next Month

July 17th is the release date for Nobody Wants to Die, the recently announced noir adventure from Critical Hit Games and PLAION. It will come to PC via Steam as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A new Gameplay Trailer is here with a look at the game's emphasis on visuals. "Our priority is to deliver a great narrative and graphical experience in our dystopian world," explains lead designer Grzegorz Goleń. "In Nobody Wants to Die, we give the player an opportunity to investigate a killer and uncover the dark secrets of the city, using the innovative in-game tools and their own moral compass as a guide." First Dwarf Early Access Next Week

Star Drifters announce First Dwarf will be available in Early Access beginning on June 19th, promising an action/RPG that "combines the most desired features of colony survivals, action RPGs, city builders, and tower defense games."
