Content Warning is now available for Windows on Steam, offering a co-op horror game from Landfall Publishing. This is a Lethal Company parody with a dose of Landmark's Totally Accurate Battle Simulator wackiness. It's available for free as a celebration of April 1st being "Landmark Day" and it's yours to keep if you snag it by noon EDT tomorrow. In it you play as an influencer attempting to go viral with scary content on SpookTube, something you can see on YouTube. Here's more:
Get famous or die trying! Content Warning is a co-op horror game where you film spooky stuff with your friends to try and go viral.

PO'ed: Definitive Edition Announced

Nightdive Studios seems to be braving the April Fools' headwinds with the announcement that its next classic game remaster will be the restoration of PO'ed, a first-person shooter released in 1995 for 3DO. The PO'ed: Definitive Edition Announcement Trailer is here with a look at some madcap 90s FPS action along with what this looks like with a fresh coat of KEX-Engine paint. This has listings on both GOG.com and Steam, and we're told to stay tuned for a release date. Here's a bit on the game and its remake:

Originally released in 1995, PO’ed is an adrenaline-pumping first-person space shooter that features gameplay elements inspired by generational powerhouses DOOM and QUAKE. PO’ed: Definitive Edition spices up the classic 1995 shooter with updated visuals, antialiasing, increased framerate and redefined controls, and up to 4K 144 FPS performance.

Your ship has been overrun by aliens. Your comrades-in-arms have been annihilated and your soufflé has been ruined! What do you do? Grab your jetpack and rocket launcher and fry those suckers! PO'ed features 16 of the baddest, maddest and most unattractive monsters in the galaxy. Rock-throwing ogres, plasma-shooting robots, giant bats ... and walking butts!

DUCKSIDE Announced

This trailer from tinyBuild games announces DUCKSIDE, a persistent-world survival game where you play as a duck. This is not our first rodeo, and we can read the calendar, so this feels like an April Fools' joke (especially since there's no disclaimer that it isn't a gag). But besides the preposterous premise, this is being sold as a real announcement with no other payoff. There's a complete Steam Listing with a very extensive description that includes signups (which work) for a playtest that's supposed to start on April 18th. So if this is a joke, it's not on us, it's on whoever went to all this trouble. Here are the fowl details:
Over 10 million ducks get killed per year by hunters, a statistic that would be much lower if ducks were combat trained. Enter DUCKSIDE, a persistent world survival game like DayZ or Rust… but you’re a duck, and so is everybody else.

Put those webbed feet to use or take flight across an expansive island, where valuable resources and treasures await any ducks fortunate enough to discover them. But remain vigilant, as both fellow player ducks and the featherless (who refer to themselves as "humans") will stop at nothing to prevent you from laying your wings on any valuables at their expense.

Untraveled Lands: Chantico Announced

The official announcement of Untraveled Lands: Chantico reveals the trailer posted here last week wasn't just for consoles, as Tall Troll Games and IndieArk announce this Indiana Jones-inspired adventure game is also coming to Steam (the Steam logo at the end of the video should have been a tip-off). This lists a Q4 2024 release window. Here's word on how you can whip this if you play your cards right:
Untraveled Lands: Chantico invites players to delve deep into the dense jungles of a world filled with legends, mysteries, and relics lost to time. Drawing inspiration from the enchanting histories and myths of Mesoamerican civilizations, Untraveled Lands: Chantico delivers an experience that transports players to an era reminiscent of the 1930s, full of retro ambiance and adventurous allure that golden era is known for.

At the core of Untraveled Lands: Chantico is a captivating card mechanic that integrates every element of the game, from resource gathering and crafting to strategic card combat and character progression. This system ensures deep, dynamic gameplay, where every decision leads to new paths, unexpected challenges, and hidden treasures. With its card-based approach, Untraveled Lands: Chantico offers a fresh twist on the survival crafting genre, ensuring that no two adventures are the same…ever!

Out of the Blue

Happy April Fools' Day, the annual celebration of everyone's inner hilarious comedian. In a completely unprecedented move this site's name has permanently and irrevocably changed to Pink's News. We have also been acquired by Microsoft, Sony, the Embracer group, AND Compaq, are going full VR, have designed our own game, are locking all our content behind a hard paywall, and are becoming a sponsored Star Citizen fan-site. But in the meantime, we'll also try (and probably fail) to separate the jokes from the news. Be safe out there.
