Stronghold: Definitive Edition Winter Update and DLC This Month

A post on Steam from Firefly discusses the future of the Stronghold series of besieged strategy games, and includes a video where Chief Marketing Officer Nick Tannahill covers the same topic. This reveals the first substantial free update is coming to Stronghold: Definitive Edition of February 13th, and this Winter Update will come alongside the launch of new premium Swine's Bay Campaign DLC. There are also details on a chance to win a copy of the DLC for free. Here's part of the plan:
Releasing on February 13th, the Swine's Bay Campaign DLC follows the events of the main game and is narrated by returning series actor Christopher Kent. Players will be met with seven ruthless military combat scenarios across original maps, as they seek to retrieve the Jewel of the North from the clutches of the infamous slaver Captain Hogsfoot.

Releasing alongside this DLC, our free Winter Update will add a second economic campaign, voiced by another returning Stronghold actor in Jay Simon! These missions are designed to test players’ strategic skills beyond the warfront, with a series of resource production and management challenges. Kingdoms may be crushed by warriors, but they can only be raised by those with the vision to build.

Out of the Blue

Happy Groundhog Day, the annual celebration of magical weather prediction. It won't require a woodchuck today to predict the weather around the BlueTower, as we have a "wintry mix" coming down, so nobody's seeing any shadows around here. This is the theoretical harbinger of an early spring, which is always welcome (overheating of the planet notwithstanding). As for the more official versions of this unofficial occasion, an early spring was predicted by the famous Punxsutawney Phil, who failed to see his shadow. This prediction is supported by the replacement for Staten Island Chuck, Connecticut's Chuckles XI, and probably others. There are also probably contradictory results despite the scientific rigor of the process, but Phil apparently speaks for much of the country, though perhaps not the world. If you're curious, here's a list of Groundhog Day Forecasters Around the World. I think my favorite name is probably Grover Cleveland Undergrounder, though the funniest thing about that list is the inclusion of other forecasters, including stuffed animals, a duck, and a lobster. Best name from these alternatives is probably Sylvia, The Apex Armadillo.
