Fortnite Big Bang Today; Chapter 5 Tomorrow

As noted in this xeet, the Fortnite Big Bang begins today at 2:00 pm EST. This conclusion to Chapter 4 promises an "unforgettable event" and a "memorable reveal toward the end." Epic suggests arriving 30 minutes early for matchmaking purposes. And a new Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5 Launch Trailer is here to celebrate what Chapter 5 brings to the first-person shooter as of tomorrow. Here's a bit:
Fortnite Battle Royale takes on a striking new appearance in Underground. Discover an entirely new Island with POI's that feature the factions of The Society versus the Underground. Seek your revenge for the kidnapping of poor Peely with an entirely fresh arsenal of weapons and items. And of course with a new season, you’ll find the Big Bang Battle Pass with pages of new cosmetics. Check out the line up of Outfits geared up and ready for action from daybreak until dawn.

Located in vaults are Mod Benches, which have mods available for many weapons in exchange for Bars. Add mods that reduce recoil, increase mag capacity, and more! Save up your Bars wisely, though, as not every mod works with every weapon.

Fight Crab 2 in February

A Steam Listing reveals plans for Fight Crab 2, a second installment in the what is now a series of crustacean conflict games (thanks Gematsu). We all know the first rule of Fight Crab, but people exposed to crabs are supposed to inform their partners, so you'll have to use your judgment in choosing whether or not to discuss this. This announcement says the sequel will scuttle into Early Access on February 13, 2024 following a week-long demo at the February Steam Next Fest. The post also includes a chaotic Early Access Trailer and more details:
In Fight Crab 2, the long-awaited sequel to Fight Crab, you flip your opponents on their backs to win in crustacean wrestling action!

This game features the brand new Career Mode where you raise your very own crab, and crabs you've raised can be used in online multiplayer with up to 5 players to fight with other crabs from all over the world.

Fight Crab 2 also builds upon Fight Crab's control scheme by adding the "Modern" control option, which is closer to a typical third-person action game. Live commentary is also broadcast over every game as an extra way to keep players on the same page.

Out of the Blue

I was minding my own business looking at something on Amazon when I came across the Vari Active Seat, which almost knocked me off my own seat. Why? Because it's a standing desk chair. Turns out this is just my ignorance showing again, because looking further, I can see these are a whole segment at this point. The one I stumbled across and most of the others I see all advertise wobbliness as a feature. I've never tried a standing desk, much less a wobbly chair, and they may be an awesome combo, but the very existence of standing desk chairs does seem to be an indictment of the whole concept. It reminds me of a gag in the criminally underappreciated sitcom Episodes, where there was an agent you would always see on a treadmill desk. Then there was a scene with her sitting at a desk normally, wearing some bandages, while you saw workers moving the treadmill desk out of her office. It all goes unmentioned, which, while not actually subtle, was a fun understated execution of the joke. Anyway, if you like a standing desk, you do you. The real takeaway here is that you should watch Episodes.
