Lumencraft Released

Lumencraft is now out of Early Access and is officially available for Windows, macOS, and Linux on Steam with a 30% launch discount. 2Dynamic Games, Star Drifters, and Surefire.Games dare to call this unique, based on how it combines top-down roguelike shooting and base building with tower defense elements. Here's the Full Release Trailer with a look, and there's a playable demo for Windows and Linux to check out. There's also this post outlining fixes that have come to the game since the launch of version 1.0. Here's word:

EA SPORTS PGA TOUR Delayed

An update on Steam reveals a slight delay to the release of EA SPORTS PGA TOUR. If it seems like only weeks ago that a March 24th release date was announced for the golf sim, that's because it was. But now the plan is to push back the launch on all platforms to coincide with the Masters Tournament. The official release is now expected on April 7th with the Early Access on April 4th:

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Released

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is now available for Windows on Steam as well as for consoles, offering a dark fantasy action/RPG from Team NINJA. Yesterday we posted a roundup of critic reviews, and the game currently has "mostly negative" user reviews. But there is a playable demo to help potential players decide if this is for them. Last week's Launch Trailer set the stage for the game, and here are more details:
Set in 184 AD, during the Later Han Dynasty, Wo Long features a land overcome by chaos and destruction. With an imperial dynasty on the verge of collapse, it’s up to a nameless militia solder to overcome adversity while fighting for survival in the turbulence of a Three Kingdoms plagued by demons and overrun by some of history’s most powerful and intimidating warriors, including Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian. To overcome the odds, players will need to awaken their inner strength by mastering the fluid swordplay of the Chinese martial arts, cast Wizardry spells based on the Five Phases (elements), and even summon Divine Beasts when things appear most bleak.

Phantom Brigade Released

Phantom Brigade is now officially available on Steam, offering a turn-based/real-time RPG for Windows where you command a group of mechs in combat. This arrived days ago, thank you to JDreyer for bringing it up. A post with some Day 1 Launch Stats shows what we missed out on, as the game had almost as much engagement in one day as during its entire Early Access run. And while we're late to the party, there's still ample time to get in on the game's 20% launch discount. The Launch Trailer takes a look at the story, and introduces an unusual precognition mechanic. Here's more:
Phantom Brigade is a hybrid real-time and turn-based tactical RPG, focusing on in-depth customization and player-driven stories. As the last surviving squad of mech pilots, you must capture enemy equipment and facilities to level the playing field. Outnumbered and out-gunned, lead the Phantom Brigade through a desperate campaign to retake their war-torn homeland.

DREDGE This Month

Developer Black Salt Games and publisher Team17 announce DREDGE, a single-player fishing adventure coming to Windows via GOG.com* and Steam and to consoles on March 30th (there's a playable demo for Switch). This isn't just about tying flies and casting lines, however, as the game promises a "sinister undercurrent." Just what this is remains a mystery for now:

Explore the Islands & Discover their Secrets
Starting from your new home in the remote archipelago, ‘The Marrows’, take to the water and scour the depths for curious collectables and over 125 deep sea denizens. Explore each area while completing quests and visiting neighbouring island regions – each with their own unique opportunities, inhabitants, and secrets.

Dredge the Depths
Someone wants you to dig up the past, but can you trust them and will it ever be enough?

Beware the Fog
Danger is everywhere, so watch for sharp rocks and shallow reefs, though the biggest threats of all lurk within the fog that cloaks the night-time seas...

Guardians of Infinity: To Save Kennedy

Ziggurat Interactive declares today another Retro First Friday. This is marked by the re-release of Guardians of Infinity: To Save Kennedy on GOG.com* and Steam. The title says it all, you play as some sort of future timecop who must travel back in time to save Kennedy. Since the time and place of the assassination are well documented, this should be an easy task, so expect some twists along the way. The game was first released in 1988 (fun factoid, much closer in time to the assassination than to today), and this trailer doesn't do anything to make you doubt that. Here's word:
You assume the identity of Adam Cooper. Your mission: to thwart the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and successfully return to the future with all of your agents. You guide your agents and send them to critical cities such as Washington, D.C., Hyannis Port, and Dallas where they must convince the President's family, friends, and associates that his life is in jeopardy. Send your agents to see Attorney General Robert Kennedy, Vice President Lyndon Johnson, or confront assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. This sets the stage for your climactic face-to-face meeting with President Kennedy where you must convince him of the impending danger awaiting him.

Out of the Blue

Dreams are a funny thing. I'm always surprised when I find them having an effect on me after waking. Last night I had dream featuring two dead loved ones: My mom, and Hudson the wonder dog. It doesn't matter if this was all just a construct of my mind, this "reunion" has me in an especially good mood today. I wish I could conjure such dreams at will, though I suppose the fact that I can't is part of why this made me so happy.
